I try hard to follow cases to their end. Hicktowners know that I have been following the case of abuser Darrell Gilyard for the past 1.5 years.
Hicktowners also know that a woman named “J for Jesus” strolled through here last year defending this abusive jerk. WHERE ARE YOU, J? No, I haven’t forgotten about you!
I want J for Jesus and her ilk to know that their pal, “Rev.” Darrell Gilyard is to serve 3 years for his crimes against women and little girls.
What a dog. He should have received no less than 15 years because he is dangerous and once he added little girls to his list, he literally was then more dangerous and vile. In fact, society is safer with this wolf behind bars.
His downfall complete, the Rev. Darrell Gilyard was led from a Jacksonville courtroom in handcuffs Thursday to begin his prison sentence for sex crimes against two teenage members of his congregation.
The charismatic pastor, once heralded for his preaching ability, said nothing to a throng of reporters and cameramen who followed him and two police officers down a courthouse hallway.
His critics, who had their say at a previous court hearing, weren’t around. Except for his lawyers, neither were any followers who once packed the pews at Shiloh Metropolitan Baptist Church to hear him teach.
None of his followers were around? You mean to tell me that J for Jesus was not there to support her man? Shame on you, J!
Gilyard, 47, agreed to a sentence of three years in prison followed by three years of sex-offender probation. He must register as a sex offender. He pleaded guilty last month to fondling a teenage girl whose parents brought her to him for counseling and to sending sexually explicit text messages to another girl.

I’m laughing at the comment that NONE of his followers showed up for the sentencing. I do recall J for Jesus and a couple others that rolled on through and were ryde or die for their beloved Pastor. I hope they manage to drum up this much more support than this for Jesus since He is coming soon!
He is officially ‘the name we shall not speak of’ in Jacksonville or in Shiloh. It’s a shame how the mighty have fallen.
What scares me is how he deteriorated.
He started off going after grown women and in spite of being transferred and fired from church to church, he continued preying on women.
Then, he deteriorated to a point whereby he was going after little girls. That was scary.
Glad this dangerous predator is off the streets.
