White Nationalist, Hal Turner Claims He Was Pals With Tim Russert
June 13, 2008It is a known fact that dead men can’t talk. Nor can they defend themselves. Hopefully someone who knows and loves Tim Russert will defend his memory from the following:
Now that he is dead, I can reveal that Tim Russert was a confidential source of mine. He provided me with many of the inside stories about government shenanigans and corruption.
Tim and I met in 1997 when I ran the campaign of Murray Sabrin for US Senate. We stayed in touch over the years.
When I took to the airwaves and became racially aware, Tim made clear he could never be seen talking to me, but he liked my “take” on things and agreed to feed me information from time to time. We went to great lengths to make certain our communications were private, using pre-paid cellular phones and anonymous e-mail remailers to conceal our dealings from everyone.
What proof does he have that he was a secret pal of Tim Russert and does he even care that he is smearing this dead man’s memory by virture of his claim that he was Russert’s pal? And what would Mr. Russert have gained by sneaking around providing “tips” to this guy? Tim was so far above such nonsense. He was a media giant.
Believe it or not, Tim Russsert was racially aware. He told me he listened to my show regularly and donated anonymously several times. He loved the fact that someone — anyone — was “getting away with” what I do on my show.
I’d like to see the proof that Tim Russert would risk his career by sending money to the likes of a Hal Turner.
Under normal circumstances I’d provide a link but I’d rather pass on sending him any traffic.

I don’t find it so implausible that Tim Russert could have been friends with Hal Turner.
- Both in NY
- Both White (Both of Irish ancestry)
- Both Roman Catholics
- Both in media
- Russert was a regular on Don Imus’ radio show until Imus became nuclear to the media when he made the statement that got him fired.
- NBC’s news division has been cited in the past for issues of race.
I’m not saying Turner is right, but I won’t assume he’s lying either.

You’ve got to be kidding me. This clown couldn’t even wait for the man to be buried before he came out of his ignorant face with this crap. I’m with you, what proof is there? And I ‘love’ *sarcasm* the term “racially aware”, what a decorative name for racist.

I agree with Independent Conservative that it’s possible that he could have been associated with the likes of Hal Turner. Gwen Iffes made a comment once that Tim Russet supported the likes of Don Imus. She made the comment to his face and he really did not deny it. She was on meet the press around the time of the Imus mess.

Disposable cell phones? E-mail anonymizers? Oh, that’s funny…
Hal Turner was tight with Sean Hannity, however. Turner was a favored caller on Hannity’s radio show in the ’90s.

Disposable cell phones and email-anonymizers are old tech.
It’s especially easy to get disposable (pre-paid) cell phones in a city like New York.
Many MSM journalists (and even some bloggers) use these.
Of course if an e-mail was produced, it could be called a fake. If an audio recording was produced it could be called a fake.
If they had a relationship, Russert wanted it not to be easily verifiable and it will probably never be.
Basically, it’s a matter of whether or not Tim Russert felt there was some truth to what Hal Turner says on his show. Two people know the answer to that question, but only one of them is still living.
Hal says:
We know that likely is a fact. If you’re running a campaign for a Republican in the NJ/NY area for US Senate, odds are you’ve met Tim Russert.
The only thing we don’t know for certain is the following:
Did they meet? Very likely yes. Very likely they talked more than once. Did they stay in touch after the ‘97 Murray Sabrin campaign? We don’t know for sure.
Keep in mind that this:
Didn’t happen till after those 90’s years. So it’s hard to prove or disprove what happened to all of Hal Turner’s relationships once he got his own radio show and started spewing overtly racist talk.
