LOL! Heeee…..heeeee…..heeeee…..
Ya’ll know that although I was born and raised in Maryland, I have no problems at all putting the state of Maryland on BLAST just as quick as I’ll blast any other state. In fact, I have blasted Maryland in the past due to their lenient stance on child molesters and due to the incompetent judges that often sit on benches here.
Well, looks like I will have to put Maryland on blast again because this state obviously views itself as a “comedian state” but no one’s laughing. They are either insane or trying to be funny but Maryland residents are NOT tickled.
Check this out:
House and Senate lawmakers worked early into the morning today to pass $1.3 billion in tax increases and ask voters to legalize up to 15,000 slot machines in five locations across the state.
Lawmakers approved increasing the sales tax 20 percent and expanding it to computer services, increasing the corporate income tax to 8.25 percent and the personal income tax on high-wage earners to 5.5 percent.
Lawmakers also approved a constitutional amendment that would place up to 15,000 slot machines at locations in Allegany, Anne Arundel, Cecil and Worcester counties and Baltimore. Residents will vote on the slots plan in November 2008.
So, they are trying slip gambling in on us in spite of the fact that we have TOLD them in the past that we don’t want that mess here. Gambling DESTROYS families as the gamblers become addicted and BROKE trying to gamble. Don’t we have enough broken up families in Maryland? Haven’t they noticed that black men in Maryland are blowing each other’s brains out at the rate of one per day?
And they are trying to raise our sales tax to 20%? Why not raise it to 90%? As I said, Maryland has jokes. LOL!!!!!!!!
Oh, and one more thing I forgot to mention regarding the governor:
Mr. O’Malley [governor] was unable to secure a gas tax increase and property tax cut he sought when he introduced his plan.
LOL!!!!!!!! Well what the heck? The first state in the Union to declare itself a Comedian State. LOL!!!!!

in reading the article, it looks like they raised the sales tax 20% percent of what it already is….that just means that yall will be paying 6 cents on the dollar instead of 5. if they raised the sales tax to 20 cents on the dollar, half the state would probably try to leave, lol…
hello. very nice blog you have here.
1 cent is no big deal. they just mover ours from 7 to 8 cent here in Ohio. however i do disagree that gambling is so bad. we have been trying to get that here forever. i haven’t read a study that would support that cities with casino’s have been ruined for it. i also could say that cities who have it haven’t really used the money they make from it wisely either. i would love to have casino’s here, but maybe thats because i’m responsible, and i expect every adult to be as well.
Thanks, DJenk. I read the article fast this morning on my way out of the house. I did not think for a second that 20% would stand, which is why I laughed. But thanks for breaking it down.
