The “Mess” Hits the Fan!
July 15, 2007I have never watched BET cable. It’s never appealed to me. However, there has been a buzz all over the internet recently regarding Hot Ghetto Mess, a program that they are planning to air which shows the bowels—hence, the term “mess”, of the lowest form of life in the black community.
The “editor” of the website, who also is pushing for the show is Jam Donaldson, a lawyer. She indicated in her solicitation for tapes for the show:
HGM couldn’t survive without your contributions. In addition to continuing the constant flow of ever appalling mess, please feel free to submit material for any of the pages on the site. Whether its [sic] us at our worst or our best, share it with HGM.
Every ethnic group has its underbellies and black America certainly is no different. But can you imagine Polish people creating a television program and website to highlight the dregs of their ethnic group? Can you imagine Jewish people reaching out to find mentally ill, uneducated Jews to put in a spotlight for others to ridicule and laugh to scorn? Don’t you know that there is something wrong—at an intensely deep level, with folks who laugh at the less fortunate?
This new program, Hot Ghetto Mess, is set up to search out the lowest form of ignorant, uneducated life in the black community for others to point fingers at like a freak show in a cheap carnival.
How Sick is the “Ghetto Mess” Concept?
To give you an idea of how sick the website is, there are actually pictures there of toddlers holding beer bottles and drinking beer. What is to be gained by publishing child abuse and what sane mind would want to watch child abuse? Is child abuse funny? Is it cute? Since alcohol consumption is illegal for children, I’d like to know if anyone affiliated with Hot Ghetto Mess is willing to hunt down the parents of those toddlers to report them to the nearest Child Protection Agency—or to call the police on those parents. If they are not willing to do something about it, why post the pictures? There are pictures there of obviously uneducated, ignorant teens with weird hairstyles. There are pictures of black women with their breasts hanging out. Why spotlight that nonsense?
What astounds me though is the fact that a person would have the gall to write, “Hot Ghetto Mess could not survive without your contributions”. That’s true. And it’s also true that insane asylums could not survive without the insane. The fact that Ms. Donaldson would even fathom starting a website so offensive that people would suspect that the site is owned by the Klan speaks volumes to how sick her site is.
The unfortunate reality that an educated black woman would want to place the weakest of her own people in the spotlight for sociopaths and other demented nuts to laugh at goes to the level of self hatred prevalent in the black community—and that self hate does not skip the educated obviously.
I actually don’t blame the white owners of the BET station for moving forward with the show. It’s not the responsibility of white people to defend the image of blacks. Those who are angry at the white owners have misplaced their blame. In fact, 100% of the responsibility goes to the black woman, Jam Donaldson who masterminded the website and who obviously peddled the show.
There have been recent rumors that as a result of advertisers pulling out, the show will not move forward. Let’s wait and see if that is fact. What the Ghetto Mess truly is about is greed. What other reason can you think of for a black attorney to peddle stinking, contaminated excrement? The bottom line agenda is fame and fortune at the expense of some insane, uneducated, ignorant blacks and other racial groups.

What bothers me about this story is this………..
I am sure that this same successful black attorney had some issues in her life that she may wish she could forget and definately would not want someone viewing as entertainment in their livingrooms. My pastor says all the time that there is always someone willing to make a profit off of another’s weakness. Well this takes the cake!!
Also, I am waiting to hear from those that will watch the show and treat it as if it is okay to laugh and point the finger at those who may not be in any situation to do any better.
