Do you all remember Ted Haggard? He is the former president of the National Association of Evangelicals. He was “snitched on” by his former male lover who said that the two of them had engaged in a sexual affair (Haggard is married) and that Haggard also had purchased drugs from him. Consequently, Haggard entered a “restoration” program to overcome his issues with homosexuality.
Apparently it did not work because he quit:
New Life Church said Tuesday that former pastor Ted Haggard has prematurely ended a “spiritual restoration” process begun when he was fired for sexual misconduct.
Haggard was fired from New Life Church and resigned as president of the National Association of Evangelicals in November 2006 after a former male prostitute alleged they had a cash-for-sex relationship. The man also said he saw Haggard use methamphetamine.
Haggard confessed to undisclosed “sexual immorality” and said he bought meth but didn’t use it.
New Life said in a written statement that “the process of restoring Ted Haggard is incomplete and (New Life) maintains its original stance that he should not return to vocational ministry.”
Haggard and his family moved to Phoenix last year. As part of a severance package that paid Haggard through 2007, he agreed to leave Colorado Springs and not talk about the scandal publicly. But Haggard made public an e-mail asking for financial support, drawing a rebuke from the restoration team.
Haggard couldn’t be reached.

Why am I not surprised. He will undoubtedly spring up with a new following of brainwashed folks and supporters who give him money. He clearly wants to continue living his life as a closeted gay man, while dishonoring his wife and family. I don’t understand why she hasn’t left his sorry behind by now and pray that she doesn’t catch an incurable disease before she realizes that her dear hubby does not want to be ‘restored’ because he is content in sleeping with male prostitutes and engaging in illegal drug use.
His wife’s life truly is in danger. These undercover, down low men are really giving women AIDS. It’s real.
Evangelical christians and the Impossibility.
I wonder why they believe a human being’s sexual preference could be changed to the one preferable to the faith?
It is totally impossible.
A normal wife would have moved out immediately out of pure disgust but his is staying because of the luxurious lifestyle made possible by the daily tithes of fools. Lovely, is it not?
No amount of praying, sermons, holy water and 1 million amens later could “restore” a homosexual to a heterosexual frame of mind. A matter of human biology is not in the same league as cooked up spirituality.
Mother Nature cannot be fooled by fools.
I suppose the hypocrisy of having a homosexual wolf among the flock would be rather embarrassing to Haggard’s church elders.
I fail to see the problem as the catholic church has already paved the way by the millions of dollars paid out to the families of little boy victims/choirboys/altarboys of gay christian priests should illustrate.
The catholics have not managed to “restore” one gay priest yet.
That should be an indication that such an event is another pie in the sky.
I do not hate homosexuals. I am just glad that Mother Nature did not deal me that card.
I can’t even imagine staying with a man who has been involved with another man. His actions of quitting the restoration process speak volumes.

Haggard is angry that his former church wouldn’t fund his and his wifes education so they could become secular counselors. They also don’t want him to ever return to the pulpit….but I think he now has other plans. Look for him to hook up with Carlton Pearson in the near future…
I expect him to be like every other pastor who refuses to leave their sinful behavior and become a LIFE COACH.
