Slain Robber’s Mother: “He didn’t have to shoot my baby like that” as Pharmacist Jerome Ersland Faces Murder Charges

By:  Lynn Green

Before you do anything else, watch this video. Then read what I have to say:

PRESS HERE

Okay, you just witnessed TWO MASKED THUGS walk into a pharmacy, guns in tow and drawn with an obvious threat to murder those in the pharmacy if their thuggish criminal demands were not met.

You also witnessed a human being, a pharmacist named Jerome Ersland defend his own life and the life of others in that pharmacy by turning the tables on the criminals. First he shot one of the thugs in the head and he chased the other one out of the store. The big, bad criminal was running so fast that he could not be caught.

What you witnessed after that is what got Jerome Ersland charged with first degree murder.  He went behind the counter, got a second gun and proceeded to pump five more bullets into the teen who was laying on the floor with a bullet already in his brain.

Those of you who read this blog regularly know that I am a conservative. You know that I am pro-victim and you know that I despise criminal thugs. They will devastate you as quick as look at you—for your own property that you worked hard for. AND, they will not hesitate to kill you.

There is no doubt in my mind that had Mr. Ersland not shot the gun, he’d be a dead man at this very moment. No doubt.

The NAACP is all over this.  His mother is crying about her “baby” being shot to death. But I have question for the NAACP and the mother of  the late 16 year old, Antwun Parker.  WHERE WERE YOU when this thug was engaging in his criminal lifestyle?  WHERE WERE YOU?  And what would you have done had he and his alleged pal, 14 year old gun wielding Jevontia Ingram, murdered the people in the store?  Would there have been support for the victims of these two thugs?

I wish Mr. Ersland well. Happy that someone sprung him out of jail.  Hope that the survivor, alleged partner, Jevontia Ingram spends MANY years in jail (What mother would give her son such a weird name?)  Rest in peace to the young man and his family.

When you live by the sword, you will die by the sword.

My husband does not agree with me. He said that the pharmacist was no better than the criminals in this situation.  I don’t know. When you are in fear of your life and the adrenalin is pumping, there is no end to what a person might do.

What do you all think?

Under Oklahoma’s “Make My Day Law” — passed in the late 1980s and named for one of Clint Eastwood’s most famous movie lines — people can use deadly force when they feel threatened by an intruder inside their homes. In 2006, Oklahoma’s “Stand Your Ground Law” extended that to anywhere a citizen has the right to be, such as a car or office.

“It’s a ‘Make-My-Day’ case,” Box said. “This guy came in, your money or your life. Mr. Ersland said, `You’re not taking my life.’” The gunman “forfeited his life.”   SOURCE

GO HERE to see Javontia’s mother defend his behavior and boast about the fact that she knew it was him who was on the videotape but did not turn him in to “protect” her son.

Lynn, to be lazy (and make things easy on me), I will include what I wrote you via e-mail and a little more for others to read and agree/disagree.

It’s easy for outsiders to say he didn’t have to shoot this kid several more times. Most of us don’t know what it’s like to have two people tell us, “give us the money or we’ll kill you.” I don’t know what I would do or how I’d react with my adrenaline pumping, not being able to see clearly, and my head/heart pounding. I am not sure I wouldn’t have considered him as a threat even while laying there. What I DO know, is that his mother shouldn’t be on television stating that “he didn’t have to shoot my baby like that” after her baby was there to kill him or get some money. I also believe that once again, the NAACP needs to stop taking up issues like this one. It leads to lesser credibility when real issues come up which they need to support.

This isn’t wrong place, wrong time. This isn’t a white man deliberately trying to hurt a black man. This is two fools, looking to take rather than work. Looking to be a menace to society (pardon the pun) rather than help people. I hate that a young black male is dead. I am ECSTATIC that a thug is no longer threatening the citizens of OKC (so figure that one out).

I am also GLAD the prosecution is also after three of his accomplices for his death since they were involved with the original attempted robbery (which should not be understated — THAT’S WHY HE GOT SHOT).

This is a tough one for all involved.

If you choose to try and hold up a store with a gun, you have to except the fact that you might be killed if something goes wrong. Of course these are young teenagers who DIDN’T THINK!!! Yes, her baby was shot, but that’s the risk you take when your trying to be a thug. (the one that was shot had trouble putting on his mask as the walked into the store)

The NAACP needs to think twice before trying to put their hand in this. Yes, it was wrong to fire another 5 rounds after shooting him in the head.

The NAACP needs to be more proactive instead of reactive. Dont jump in about how the young black teen shouldn’t have been shot. You need to be just as aggressive going after them WELL BEFORE THESE UNDER AGE KIDS PICK UP A GUN AND TRY SOMETHINK STUPID.

They need to be more concerned with how it got to the point were 2 black kids thought they had to commit arm robbery, instead of focusing on the tragic results.

I agree the pharmacist’s first shot was justified. The video doesn’t show us the teen that was on the floor and whether he suddenly posed a threat to the pharmacist after he had already been shot. Hopefully, he did pose a threat, or the pharmacist will be on the hook for excesssive force.

I am very glad that another thug is off the street, sad that they chose to put their livs in danger in such a fashion. With all the killings by “babies” these days, can you really blame the pharmacist for protecting himself? If that boys was not mortally wounded and he was able to get back up, he would have been toast!
