Sister Yvette: Article on Homosexual Marriage

Hicktowners, from time to time Sister Yvette writes scriptural articles for us. Here is another one to heed!

Everyone is aware that we are indeed in the last of the last days. The extreme evidence of this recently is the protests that are going on throughout this country concerning state after state rejecting homosexual marriages.

1 Corinthians 14:33
For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

Recently there has been violence coming against churches mostly because most of them still actually read the bible.

Romans 1:22Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

Unfortunately those men and women are in the control of demons, plain and simple. The devil can do nothing except what the Lord allows him to do. See Job 1.

Romans 1

24Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

25Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

26For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

Because they follow the way of the world, they receive sympathy and praise for their evil causes.

James 4:4
Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

They truly do not know what they are doing and that’s the way it is supposed to be. Many people feel it is wrong to speak the words written in the bible where sin is concerned.

Romans 1

27And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

28And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

29Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

30Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

31Without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:

32Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

Matthew 10:14-16 (King James Version)

14And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.

15Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment, than for that city.

16Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.

Matthew 11:22-25 (King James Version)

22But I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgment, than for you.

23And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to hell: for if the mighty works, which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.

24But I say unto you, That it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for thee.

25At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.

Mark 6:11

Luke 10:11-15

We need to view sin as God views sin. Christians need to ask how far are they willing to go to gain acceptance.

I think a lot of the problem is that most of these pastors have taught that Jesus came to do away with the law.

Matthew 5:17
Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

Somebody’s lying. Either Jesus lied and he really did come to do away with all the law or the ‘pastors’ are lying.

Leviticus 20

13If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

It should cause us to be angry that those who choose to follow a perverted path equate their demonic behavior with the civil rights movement. The civil rights movement had to with being treated as a human being. This homosexual ‘marriage’ thing has everything to do with destroying the words of the bible. These people are basically saying they are above God and their desire is greater than his will.

1 Corinthians 6

9Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,

10Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God

    A fit word in due season Sister Yvette! It seems that the church at large today is slowly being “bewitched” into the homosexual agenda, and they will not take a firm stand on what the bible says! I thank God that there are still some Saints that are not afraid to contend for the faith that was once delivered to us. My prayer is that Lord, no matter what persecution is coming our way for standing on your sure wod…give the true Saints the grace and strength to stand!
    My favorite verse, Rom 1:16, “For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, for it is the power of God unto Salvation…”

    godlysoldier you betta say that! Yvette thank you for that. The church needs to take a stand but some are afraid they won’t have a good music department if they preach against homosexuality. God is watching and we need to stop compromising.

    godlysoldier, if only more people were more afraid of displeasing God than displeasing man those people never would have been bold enough to storm those churches.

    churchlady, I forgot about the music department, but that is the way it is in most churches.

    Thank you Sister Yvette for bringing the unchangeable Word. No law, marches, protests, bribes, hollywood, false religions, politicians, crying or whining can change what God has said.

    Because we as African Americans are so used to seeing the issue of civil rights through our “racial” lens, we often forget that civil rights issues are not exclusive to us; they never have been. There have been countless “minority” groups throughout history who have had to fight for their civil rights and freedoms. That being said, if I am to look at the basic definition of “civil rights,” I don’t take issue with its usage in this scenario. It is only when specific comparisons are attempted to be made that I begin to disagree.

    Although we live in a democracy, it is clear that some people think we live in a theocracy. That being said, when are we going to start holding rallies against common-law marraiges and athesits who marry and all the benefits they receive as a result? When are we going to start having protests and signing petitions to keep other “sinners” out of our churches, schools, places of work, etc.? My comments have nothing to do with whether I believe homosexuality to be wrong or right, but rather with the consistency of the Body of Christ. We often get so caught up in certain areas of focus that we neglect other areas. From my vantage point (however small some people perceive that to be), we struggle in the basic things of Christ and focus on the things we think we can see…when the hidden things of our heart are often causing a greater burden on ourselves and our lives.

    Reading comprehension is not an area in which I lack. Therefore, I understood what topic was being addressed. I thought this was a blog where differing viewpoints could be voiced (and discussed), but it appears that my comments are often scruntized because I do not always agree with the group. You say that the topic was not about hidden sins, but I thought my point was valid in that there are many sins that the church picks and chooses how they will be handled. Civil rights are had by other groups that were mentioned Yvette’s last Scripture reference, are they not? If the church is going to approach homosexuality in the manner that they are, then so should ALL sins (and since I know you read your Bible then you know what other things are mentioned to be an abomination). Let the church be consistent. How is that asking too much?

    If you were concerned about my comments, why did you not approve them before posting like you had once done? Clearly, you must think I’m that stupid. Please don’t assume why I put something in quotations; I recall you saying communication was your thing, so you know there are different reasons why someone would use quotes. No where have you seen me write that sin or sinners did not exist. We ALL fall short, but repeated finger-wagging while planks are in our own eyes serves no good purpose for anyone. Open dialogue serves good purpose no matter if the outcome is that the two parties do not agree. But I guess that only applies when concerning comments other than mine. Oh well…

    RESPONSE FROM LYNN: Nothing agitates me more than when folks pretend they are not allowed to go against the grain. DeeLove and I often disagree. Diva and I disagree all the time. Monica and I disagree. I invite disagreements, TT, so don’t even try it. What I found interesting about yours was that it was, in my opinion, going off topic into something totally different.

    I think a valid point was made in this statement in that I do not see the people of God, speaking out against ‘shacking up’ anymore. While, I don’t wish to get off topic here, I too would like to see that issue addressed by the church as well.

    Just like some try to push this agenda of gay marriages, these ‘substitute’ marriages of living with one’s man or woman and baby mama or baby daddy are just as deplorable IMHO.

    No apologies Lynn. As I make no apologies. If the words of the bible offends then so be it. I personally would rather be shown my transgression so I can repent than to be allowed to think that God accepts me sin and all.

    If anyone has been raised with good theology they know how their denomination and the Bible feel about homosexuality. I like my pastor because in all the years I’ve been attending the church he’s only talked about it 2-3 times; the last time several years ago. If a pastor has to constantly preach on one theme, I start to get leery yet some churches preach about it constantly. Ok, we get it. Same thing with tithing. I’ve only heard him talk about it a few times.

    The homosexuality issue is about to make my head spin. I was just reading last week where someone has now written a gay version of the Bible! SMH…..
