Sarah Palin Quits, Upset About Attacks on Trig
Sarah Palin’s retirement speech today was eyebrow raising. She spoke quickly, breathlessly, and with a neurotic demeanor. She looked nervous and one got the impression that there is something serious on the horizon.
Although she was all over the place with her speech, one thing was clear. She is offended by the fact that media are picking on her son, Trig. I don’t blame her. The toddler has Downs Syndrome and those who have been printing photoshopped pictures of him are cruel. Babies should be off limits.
Trig aside, stay tuned because I don’t believe we’ve heard the last of Sarah.

In my opinion, I think the media has been very unfair to Sarah and her family. Her children should have been off limits. Everybody can’t take the pressure of being in the spotlight and people watching your every move. I don’t blame Sarah for resigning. It’s not worth it. Sarah has family issues just like other families. I pray the best for her and her family.

If she did in fact resign due to the attacks on her family/children or any other family issues then I can respect the fact that she is willing to walk away and put her family first.
I have been reading on the internet where people are stating that she resigned to prepare for the Presidential Race in 2012, and by resigning now she can raise more money for that time (which many feel was a bad move on her part). Whatever her reason, I wish her the best! Even with her flaws, I really liked her.
I never cared for her. Those lies she told, accusing Obama of being a terrorist and “palling around with terrorists” was a bit much for me. I cannot stomach a liar.
Good riddance. This idiot has about as much chance of becoming a president as a leaf has of flying to the moon.
I think that there’s more to this than the media picking on her son. I would say good riddance, but this woman was emboldened by the support she received from the obviously fractured Rethuglican Party. I don’t think she’s about to fade into the sunset.
I do agree that children are off limits and the media was wrong for going after her kids, David Letterman included. If she’s quitting just because of the personal attacks on her kids, then how come Bill Clinton didn’t quit when the media was so merciless on Chelsea when they first moved into the White House?
Sarah Palin’s cut and run tactics speak to a broader issue for me — her inability to be consistent at her job. Remember how many attempts she had to make to finish her Bachelor’s degree? That spoke volumes to me.
During the speech, if you can call it that—she was off script. She was going in too many different directions, speaking too fast and sounding crazy, quite frankly.
One of the complaints from the McCain camp was that it was hard to get through to her, as she always screwed up when off script yet she did not want to take direction.
This gal is a piece of work.
I definitely agree that her family (especially her kids) should have been off limits. People went way to far with attacking her children. I haven’t seen anything pertaining to people making jokes about her baby, but if they did, then I am outraged.
As for Sarah Palin being scrutinized under a microscope, hey she is a big girl and she knew what she was signing up for when she first stepped into the ring. The scrutiny and criticism go along with the territory. In fact, she did not have any problem hitting the ground running with an inflammatory stance directed at (former) Presidential Candidate Barrack Obama. She was malicious and incidiary. She now ends up looking like a half baked fool with her actions and that speech. I don’t know if she was trying not to cry or what, but she sounded awful. She definitely jumped all over the place and was making random metaphors that ended up making her sound retarded. She tore her rump with me during that campaign and I can’t help but think that she got what was coming to her in the end. Just a thought…

I agree with blackpolitical and don’t think she’s resigning because of people making fun of Trig in the media. If that were the case, she would have resigned when they were talking about her unmarried underage daughter becoming pregnant.
That speech sounded very crazy and her body language conveyed the same. That indicates to me that something very DEEP and big is on the horizon. She was so self assured and cocky during the debates and when she was making her speeches on the trail to attack Obama. What happened to the self proclaimed ‘pitbull with lipstick?’ I sure didn’t see her the other night in that rambling speech where she was speaking so fast she couldn’t even breathe.
Plus she stays embroiled in a scandal. From the mess with her husband, to the drama about trying to get her brother in law fired unlawfully, to her spending the GOP’s money to buy daughter Piper Louis Vuitton bags, you never can tell. I suspect someone was or is closing in on her and ole girl is running scared.
