It looks like yet another celebrity is facing financial woes.  Rapper, Actor and hip-hop activist, Dante Smith a.ka. ‘Mos Def’ has been sued by the law firm of Blank Rome for $60,000 in unpaid fees and retainers from when the firm represented the rapper in his divorce from Maria Yepes in 2006.

The couple ended their 10-year marriage that year in a Brooklyn court, with Judge Sarah Krauss pleading with them to settle their differences outside her courtroom.

Following Mos Def’s divorce from Yepes, he married former Toronto stripper, Alana Wyatt, whom he’d known for only three days.

Those nuptials ended with Mos Def allegedly denying Wyatt a divorce, she wrote about her ill-fated marriage to the triple threat in a book published in April.  SOURCE

Currently the rapper has a warrant out for his arrest in Las Vegas for reportedly tearing a paparazzo’s camera off his neck, smashing it to the ground, and then absconding with the camera during a confrontation.

Las Vegas police say they expect Mos Def, who faces charges of felony robbery and malicious destruction of private property, to turn himself in.
