Ramos and Compean, Sentences Commuted

Can someone explain to me what took Bush so long to commute the sentences of Ramos and Compean? He waited until his last day in the White House. That’s cold blooded.
Look. These men shot some illegal alien drug dealers who were a clear and present danger to our society. Talk about terrorists!
Instead of the illegal aliens getting in trouble, Ramos and Compean ended up in jail. How is that for justice?
On his final full day in office, President Bush issued commutations for two former U.S. Border Patrol agents convicted in 2006 of shooting and wounding an unarmed illegal immigrant — suspected of drug smuggling at the time — and then covering it up.

I seem to be the only person that remembers the part of the story that they lied about the shooting. I am glad they are getting out, but I wish people would stop acting like they did nothing wrong. They tried to cover it up.

If lying will keep you out of jail for defending yourself against criminals who broke into this country illegally to sell their drugs, I have no problem with that.
Oh…and no, they did nothing wrong. Illegal alien gangsters who break in to destroy our society via their drug dealing deserve anything they get.
I guess the border patrol was trying to send a message to drug dealers crossing the border, which ultimately ended up un-favorable for the border patrol officers. I do believe the president should have pardoned the officers.
Although I agree they were guilty for lying about shooting the thug, for the prosecuted and judge to give those men 10 years was ridiculous. For Bush to wait 4 years to decide maybe now I should pardon them would be a good idea is beyond understanding. I am glad they finally have been somewhat pardoned but why couldn’t he have given them a full pardon instead of just commuting their sentence.
If you all remember, the thug was given a deal for his testimony and after release came back across the border with more drugs. I say put those two border agents back to work and let’em shoot some more!!!!And no I’m not kidding. Shoot, if Cheney can shoot his friend and not go to jail, why not let the border patrol do their job!!!!
