Pastor Harvey Visits HickTown, Shedding Light on Fallen Pastor Gilyard
I just received a note from Pastor George Harvey, who has shed further light on the situation regarded fallen Pastor, Darrell Gilyard. For those who visit this blog and claim that I am wrong for exposing the various pulpit pimps, guess what? There are a trillion blogs out there. If you are bothered by me exposing these rogues, get off of this blog and stay off because I plan to expose them regularly! I’m really disturbed that Gilyard is being paid a salary while on leave. WHY is he being paid? Won’t he take his lust filled behind somewhere and get a J-O-B? Are the leaders in his church crazy to pay that lustful so-called pastor? Pimps never cease to amaze me.
Thanks, Pastor Harvey and your letter is below:
Thanks for your website and for all you all do to help Christians earnestlty contend for the faith. Here’s a synopsis of the transpirations from 14 years ago when Darrell Gilyard first came to Jacksonville — by God’s grace, I confronted at that time him about his sexual misconduct out west. In April, 1993, I prayerfully confronted Darrell Gilyard at Shiloh’s old auditorium, after having studied the pre-1993 facts carefully. I told Darrell that he was Biblically disqualified from the Pastorate due to various improprieties with women out west — see I Timothy 3:1-8 relative to the Pastor’s qualifications. In that short meeting, he literally ran through the auditorium to get away from the rebukes. I sent a follow-up letter to Darrell Gilyard outlining the reasons for disqualification. Within a week, two of his Deacons asked to meet with me, both of whom proved that they, too, were disqualified from office. Deacon Herman Sykes told me that I was nuts and Deacon Copeland said, We don’t care what he’s done, as long as he wins souls. Both Deacons subsequently filed an unjust complaint against me with the State Attorney’s office because of my tenacious rebuke of Gilyard’s evils. The Lord Jesus gave me victory at the SA (state attorney) mediation. The mediator asked both Deacons whether they had reviewed the documentation I had relative to Gilyard’s pre-1993 improprieties; both said no as you can confirm from the SA file. The mediator then gave both deacons copies of the documentation and insisted that they take it home for review. Before concluding the meeting, the mediator only asked that I stop preaching about Gilyard’s pre-1993 evils on WCGL radio. I had already begun to rebuke the director of that station (Pastor Ralph Jennings) who interrupted one of my paid broadcasts on the Gilyard subject with an unjust censure and unscriptural letter to me for my rebukes of Gilyard. By God’s grace, I simply did my job as a local pastor (then and now) to help warn and protect the people of God, even at great personal risk and in the face of willful ignorance on the part of the aforementioned deacons. Although Shiloh’s Deacons and Darrell Gilyard could perhaps be facing civil and criminal litigation, I do have a clear conscience in knowing that I obeyed The Lord Christ while doing my best to prevent further harm upon Shiloh and upon other innocent women by Darrell Gilyard. In essence, the deacons made a terrible error in 1993 in terms of hiring Darrell Gilyard. Nevertherless, we at Mt. Charity remain prayerful for their repentance in accordance with II Corinthians 7:9-11. We pray that they’ll come clean through Christ’s blood and begin rebuking evil men who commit horrific crimes against heaven and humanity, rather than trying to cover the sin of those responsible for such heinous offenses.

Sadly, we are in a society, that is exposed to all kinds of things even nickle and dime slick pastors. All pastors are not bad but as we know are some bad. We need to stop being naive about what is really out here. I have heard of countless stories like this one and If you confront get ready most religious folk are going to start quoting scriptures to define there ignorance. I got enough sense to know when something doesn’t agree with me even on a blog I do my own personal investigation. I dont’ go along to get along. Before the blogs there was the nightly news. Fortunately things are changing and things are becoming more apparent quickly and the resources are broadening. I look for the good in everyone but you know that evil will be present. We talk about drug dealers, robbers, and things like that all the time. We got to come together and lets weed out the spiritual cancers by being a voice and learn to confront what is obviously is a constant in our faces. True men and women of God are not afraid of the truth and will not run. I for one will ask questions and I will confront. What we dont confront today will definitely confront us tomorrow. It is our job to do our own homework regarding some of these ministries that are reported to us. If then you find out that something is incorrect I am most certain that God will get TOTAL victory regarding any ministry that is wrongly accused and by all means letting the truth prevail.
We got to come together and lets weed out the spiritual cancers by being a voice and learn to confront what is obviously is a constant in our faces.
That’s right. There are spiritual cancers out there like foxes devastating God’s people. Now what on earth would cause a grown man to send an explicit text message to a middle school aged child? Thank God her mother called the police. BUT he has no business being on PAID leave. Noooooooo!
We need more men in the church like Pastor Harvey, who go with God instead of going with the flow. Why some churches refuse to question a pastors past and present offences is beyond me.
Just a word to the wise, if you’re unable to ask questions or the pastor is not willing to address them regarding their behavior, then your church could be headed for an embarrasing fall.
Now I can get to the “SAY WHAT?” portion.
He’s still getting PAID?!? Have they learned anything? Do they think he’s innocent? Will he still get paid when he’s sitting in cell block 901? When God ask us to be good stewards over the things we have Iam sure he meant that for the church as well. The least they could do is suspend his pay, and then if he is innocent(yeah right)than you pay him the back money. If guilty then the church can use that money on helping people in the church that need it, while looking for a more worthy and transparent leader.
Yes, a true bone of contention with me is the fact that he is being paid. Why should the church have to pay him money for doing nothing other than sitting at home chilling?
A woman called the police to report that he had sent text messages to her middle school aged child. Is he CRAZY?
And that church is nuts for supporting him.
I plan to do some investigative work on that church.
You go Lynn
Bravo to Pastor Harvey. I got a laugh out of the demon in Gilyard running from him, lol. Just because someone calls themself a ‘pastor’ doesn’t mean they are. People are so quick to call themselves ‘rebuking’ you when you warn people of wolves, especially when you talk about their favorite superstar, yet they never once stop and take a closer look themselves. Perhaps it’s because that ‘preacher’ doesn’t convict them of their sins and speaks more to their ego with this ‘me, myself, and I’ mess that is coming out of those places.
Yvette, you go girl!
You hit the ball out of the park with that post. The bible speaks of people who have “itching ears”. They will sit under a demon as long as that demon tells them what they want to hear.
I too laughed when I read the part about that sly fox running when confronted. And yet, he is sending text messages to little girls?
Where is his wife. I have some question for her!
Based on his actions, Pastor Harvey should be nominated for your Good Shepherd’s award. Shame on the ‘Men of God’ for the way that they treated him when he tried to confront this shyster. Those men proved that people would rather wither under a lie rather than blossom under the truth.
Pastor Harvey proves that there is a lack of integrity in too many of our local churches. When confronted with the truth they ignore it. When confronted with scripture they twist it. When confronted by membership they berate them. All to keep disqualified leadership in place. Gilyard is done, his reproach will never be blotted out (prov 6:33). No longer is he blameless or of good reputation. Jacksonville joins Tampa and Orlando with scandals. If loose lips sink ships, what do loose zippers do?

Welcome to HickTown, Cryloud!
Cryloud, I LOVE the logo of the wolf on your blog and the concept of protecting sheep from wolves!
Everyone, be certain to press on Cryloud’s name and it will take you to the blog.
I agree with deelove, Pastor Harvey should praised for his actions. Standing in defence of scripture even when the church was against him.
Well done good and faithful servant.
I just took a glance at Cryloud’s blog and liked what I saw. I will have to go back and explore it more indepthly when I have more time. Lynn, thanks for not being scared to share the spotlight!
I am a former victim of Darrell’s back in 1991. I had just turned 18. What happened with me was the beginning of the “investigation” that ended up exposing many other improprieties. As you all know, he lost his church in Texas then.
I am now cooperating with the current situation and join you in trying to get him to stop victimizing. This all should have ended his preaching days long ago.
Please read my blog regarding the case and the plea for more of you who were victimized (either recently or in the past) We need your testimony to solidify this case. We don’t want to see him walk again because of church cover up. I know it is risky and scary to come forward, but you will have to live with the knowledge that you let him get away if you don’t speak up. I lived with it for the last 17 years, although I spoke up at the time, I allowed the church to handle it and was let down. This time he is facing criminal charges on minors. Together, we are many – please don’t let there be more victims!!!

Thank you Hicktown for exposing the truth. I believe God is trying to clean up the churches. The scandal’s are a bad testimony to the world, but the church not putting an end to it looks a whole lot worse! We cannot brush things under the rug, it will resurface again!
ALSO, I posted this elsewhere, But I want to extend a huge shout out to Pastor Harvey!!! Thank you for standing up years ago and again now. If more Pastors and people like myself would have stood up with you then, he would not have been allowed to victimize these girls and the others!
He had his chance to repent and change. Now he sits over there waiting for “this to shall pass” as he collects his salary and probably works on more sermons.
WE SAY NO MORE BROTHER GILYARD! Your day with the Lord is coming- do you not fear Him?
