Pastor Harvey Visits HickTown, Shedding Light on Fallen Pastor Gilyard

January 03, 2008

I just received a note from Pastor George Harvey, who has shed further light on the situation regarded fallen Pastor, Darrell Gilyard. For those who visit this blog and claim that I am wrong for exposing the various pulpit pimps, guess what? There are a trillion blogs out there. If you are bothered by me exposing these rogues, get off of this blog and stay off because I plan to expose them regularly! I’m really disturbed that Gilyard is being paid a salary while on leave. WHY is he being paid? Won’t he take his lust filled behind somewhere and get a J-O-B?  Are the leaders in his church crazy to pay that lustful so-called pastor? Pimps never cease to amaze me.

Thanks, Pastor Harvey and your letter is below:

Thanks for your website and for all you all do to help Christians earnestlty contend for the faith. Here’s a synopsis of the transpirations from 14 years ago when Darrell Gilyard first came to Jacksonville — by God’s grace, I confronted at that time him about his sexual misconduct out west. In April, 1993, I prayerfully confronted Darrell Gilyard at Shiloh’s old auditorium, after having studied the pre-1993 facts carefully. I told Darrell that he was Biblically disqualified from the Pastorate due to various improprieties with women out west — see I Timothy 3:1-8 relative to the Pastor’s qualifications. In that short meeting, he literally ran through the auditorium to get away from the rebukes. I sent a follow-up letter to Darrell Gilyard outlining the reasons for disqualification. Within a week, two of his Deacons asked to meet with me, both of whom proved that they, too, were disqualified from office. Deacon Herman Sykes told me that I was nuts and Deacon Copeland said, We don’t care what he’s done, as long as he wins souls. Both Deacons subsequently filed an unjust complaint against me with the State Attorney’s office because of my tenacious rebuke of Gilyard’s evils. The Lord Jesus gave me victory at the SA (state attorney) mediation. The mediator asked both Deacons whether they had reviewed the documentation I had relative to Gilyard’s pre-1993 improprieties; both said no as you can confirm from the SA file. The mediator then gave both deacons copies of the documentation and insisted that they take it home for review. Before concluding the meeting, the mediator only asked that I stop preaching about Gilyard’s pre-1993 evils on WCGL radio. I had already begun to rebuke the director of that station (Pastor Ralph Jennings) who interrupted one of my paid broadcasts on the Gilyard subject with an unjust censure and unscriptural letter to me for my rebukes of Gilyard. By God’s grace, I simply did my job as a local pastor (then and now) to help warn and protect the people of God, even at great personal risk and in the face of willful ignorance on the part of the aforementioned deacons. Although Shiloh’s Deacons and Darrell Gilyard could perhaps be facing civil and criminal litigation, I do have a clear conscience in knowing that I obeyed The Lord Christ while doing my best to prevent further harm upon Shiloh and upon other innocent women by Darrell Gilyard. In essence, the deacons made a terrible error in 1993 in terms of hiring Darrell Gilyard. Nevertherless, we at Mt. Charity remain prayerful for their repentance in accordance with II Corinthians 7:9-11. We pray that they’ll come clean through Christ’s blood and begin rebuking evil men who commit horrific crimes against heaven and humanity, rather than trying to cover the sin of those responsible for such heinous offenses.
