Sarah Palin has been found guilty of using her political power to have Commissioner Walt Monegan ousted.
It would not have taken a rocket scientist to figure out that it is strange that he was fired around the same time that he refused to get rid of Palin’s brother in law.
Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin abused her power as Alaska’s governor in the firing of her former public safety commissioner, but violated no laws, a report for the state Legislature concluded Friday.
Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is under investigation for the firing of her public safety commissioner.
Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan’s refusal to fire Palin’s ex-brother-in-law from the state police force was “likely a contributing factor” to Monegan’s July dismissal, but Palin had the authority as governor to sack him, the report by former Anchorage prosecutor Stephen Branchflower states.

Ok, can someone help me understand here…. She “abused her power as Alaska’s governor in the firing of her former public safety commissioner, but violated no laws”?
Where I come from that is called unlawful termination and grounds for Mr. Monegan to file suit, but seeing as the Palin’s reportedly pal around with Seccessionists and want Alaska to be independent of the U.S., I guess in their little world, it does make sense.
It’s all about bending rules to keep her from being impeached.
Why is no one making a big deal out of the Secessionist affiliation??? Why do people keep dredging up Reverend Wright and any other impertinent thing that they can on Obama, but we are not hearing any lingering coverage on the Secessionist affiliation?? This mess is so one sided that it ain’t even funny!
I need to do an article on that. Thanks for reminding me, DeeLove!
Dee, if you ever want to write an article, just do so and email it to me. I’ll post it.
Lynn, thanks for the invite. I will do some research and submit something to you tomorrow (Sunday). Once again, thanks.
She went beyond abuse. Whose spouse has the authority and audacity to review an employees’s personnel file and call in state employees on a whim, for a meeting to discuss an issue he doesn’t like? I have never heard of such asinine behavior in my life unless it was in a church.
Monegan should sue Todd Palin for harrassment. If I were on the jury I’d convict him.
On Nightline they played tapes and Palin’s assistant used her and Todd’s name repeatedly inquiring about when Wooten (her brother in law) would be fired. It was very damaging and incriminating.
The people of AK should fear that this woman will easedrop on them or pull another stunt to get her way.
I’m with DeeLove and the rest of you, I AM OUTRAGED that the media is sweeping this under the “rug”. Had it been Obama it would be headlining EVERY news cast.

I see the Secessionist piece posted but haven’t had a chance to read it yet, but I will say it always BOTHERED me how Palin refers to Alaska as “up in Alaska” and those type of phrases as though Alaska was some far away land and not apart of us–The UNITED States of America. Which made me raise the question, how does she quailfy to meet the needs and understand the concerns of us “down here” when she is so far removed from us, by her own admission.
@Me93,
You are very correct about Palin making separatist type comments relating to Alaska. In fact, she is constantly making them. It does make one wonder how this woman was chosen to run for V.P. of the highest office of the land. She projects herself in such a manner that she doesn’t appear to be a part of the UNITED States of America. When I couple her statements with her affiliation to the Secessionist movement, it does give me reason to pause. In fact, plenty of people should be raising their eyebrows by now.
