OK Magazine Runs Picture of a DEAD Michael Jackson

I’m proud to say that I have never purchased nor read any copies of OK magazine and now that I realize how sick they are, I never will:

In an attempt to capitalize on the death of a celebrity, OK! magazine has paid a reported $500,000 for the exclusive rights to run a photo of Michael Jackson’s dead body on the cover of their “Official Tribute Issue.”
A close-up of Jackson’s lifeless face, eyes closed with a respirator over his mouth, runs next to the words “in loving memory.”

SOURCE

If you are wondering why they would run such a morbid picture—of a dead man, think “financial problems”. The magazine is desperate for survival and apparently thinks that by raping Michael Jackson’s memory, they will some how get pulled out of their rut.

ADVERTISERS, STAY AWAY FROM OKAY MAGAZINE!

Readers, next time you are in the grocery store, check out which companies advertise in that magazine. Drop the advertisers a line letting them know how upset you are with the actions of OK magazine!  Let them know that you will not continue to buy products from advertisers who would do business with such a disrespectful company.

Did they stop to think about the feelings of Jacksons’ family, friends, and fans?

I saw that picture on television news broadcasts a few nights ago. I think this has already turned into a ratings scoop-fest. I want to remember Micael in ALL his genius and only that. He brought some much to the entertainment industry and the world with his magnificent musical abilities. That is what I want to remember and only that!!!!

Desperate times call for desperate measures for some of these magazines. It seems as if it’s all about the money. Vibe according to bet.com is closing their doors. I feel compassion for the Jackson family. I wouldn’t want my loved ones deceased face on the cover of a magazine.

It’s all about money and the bible tells us that the love of money is the root of all evil. Yes, I do believe it is evil to display such a picture. It is tacky and shows absolutely no respect for the grieving family and friends.

    Hi Lynn,

With the two classes I had remaining, I did well – 1 A and 1 B. I ended up in the hospital again (after the last time I posted here – mini stroke triggered by a migraine) so I took some time away from things. In August I go back to my full time schedule with both schools

Then for some reason, I couldn’t sign on to the new blog but was here reading everyday. I just happened to try again today and it worked! My computer has been acting a bit weird though. I changed virus protection and it is now functioning much better.

Anyways, it feels good to be able to leave comments again!
