Ms. Worthy is poised to accuse Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick of cheating on his wife with multiple women in an expansion of the perjury case against him, Worthy’s office confirmed Monday.
A Free Press review on Monday of Kilpatrick’s trial testimony found that, in addition to denying an affair with Beatty, the mayor denied having sex with an unidentified Jamaican woman at a barbershop. One of the mayor’s former bodyguards had also accused him of meeting a woman at the Lofts apartments in Detroit for a late-night liaison. SOURCE

Can somebody explain to me why Mrs. Kilpatrick stays with this womanizing clown? Adultery is deadly now. AIDS still has no cure, ya’ll.
Maybe he told her he uses protection.
My guess is that some marriages have become so emotionally dead that it’s more equivalent to a business partner or maintaining a status of Mrs. 1st lady, Mrs. basketball player, Mrs. football player etc… Otherwise, how do these women or men of habitual cheaters pick their heads up every morning knowing that man or woman continues to disrepect them in every way possible?
I have to agree with you Energize, that some of these women are so caught up in being Mrs. 1st Lady, Bishop’s Wife, Mrs. NBA All-Star/Celebrity, etc. that they stay because they wish to maintain the lifestyle, even if it degrades them or lowers their own self esteem.
Some feel that even if they do divorce and get half of the money that they will lose access to that ‘lifestyle’ of being on the “A” list, going to the parties and exclusive events where only the elite are priviliged to attend.
Diva and Energize, I believe that you both are on to something regarding these wives being married to their images and positions. Eddie Murphy’s ex-wife (Nicole Murphy) immediately comes to mind. AFTER their divorce, she disclosed that she didn’t believe his story about not knowing that he was in the presence of a transsexual. I remember reading that she thought his whole account of the incident sounded bogus, yet she stayed with him and even popped out another child. Go figure. Mrs. Kilpatrick will end up being the same way. AFTER their divorce (and it is probably going to eventually happen) she will then spill the beans on her knowledge of all of his shananigans

Godlysoldier, I am taking a guess that he is still in office because the legal powers-that-be want to make sure that all I’s are dotted and all T’s are crossed in case of impending litigation. Everyone knows that he is not going to go away without a fight. Even if it is an unjustified fight.
Dee, excellent point about Nicole Murphy, Eddie’s ex-wife. It seems as though the copies of the divorce decree were still warm from the printer and she was already out with NFL star, Michael Strahan. It seemed like she needed to immediately run to someone else of similar celebrity stature in order to feel secure.
I also agree that the prosecutor is taking time to build her case against him because he is like a ‘projects roach’ and just refuses to go away, although the Combat and Boric acid are all over him.
