“Minister” Tonex discusses his same sex attractions

Let Christians continue following this type of mess. I could not tell you one song that this entity has sang. I only am familiar with him by way of Hicktowners who send me information on him.

He turns my stomach. I wouldn’t listen to his “sermons” or music for a second.

I first reported on this entity HERE.

ummmm…ok Lynn, I get all your posts straight to my google reader and sometimes I agree with you and sometimes I don’t. So when I saw you talking about Tonex, whom I listen to often, I thought, ok lemme see what she wrote and how I will disagree with anything that she says…well….ummm..I am speechless at what I just saw. I considered myself and fan and would’ve said that Tonex the artist, pastor or whomever was not gay and preached holiness and so on. But I think I am utterly speechless at what I just saw…so Lynn, thanks for the eye opener. All I can say is wow.

I was done with this fool when I saw his marathon cusing video last year.

Marriage is between a man and a woman, but HAVING RELATIONS WITH THE SAME SEX THEM IS OK???

What kind specialized type of crack is he smoking and does he READ THE BIBLE? And he use to pastor a church?

I don’t understand the game playing with him. If you are going to say at one point you did have sexual relationships with men, they why flip flop back and forth? If you prefer both men and women then simply say, “I’m bisexual!” Why try to dress it up already. You put half of it out there already, own up to the rest of it.

    Let me do a quick translation of what was said in the video;

Tonex-”Well, I know that God’s word strictly prohibits the demonic desires of my flesh, but since I refuse to get healed by the power of the Holy Spirit(that takes too much humility), I will do what I want to do and try to get everyone to accept my mess under the guise of being “anointed” and “gifted” since, you know, “the gifts and callings of God are without repentance.” So what, I like men. “All have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God, right?”

” My issue just so happens to be my sexuality. I’m a free spirit-or a person who does whatever in the heck they want to yet still dabble into this “God” thing. I make God who I want him to be. I make my own spiritual rules. Hey, look at me. I’ve gotten Grammy noms, a little money and a little fame. This excuses my behavior you know since after all, look at my talent and look how far God has taken me. Heck, I’m still in the pulpit and still getting invites to sing and preach. Surely that means that no matter what my nasty, filthy unGodly choices are, He’s still using me and will let me live with him in eternity…’cuz I’m anointed and gifted, remember? Now I can have an even bigger platform and get more of the attention I crave since the whole Gay Christian Movement is a big thing now and the world as a whole will accept me all the more.”

Now that I have gotten all that our of my system, I will say that I am grieved greatly by it all. Has he been turned over to a reprobate mind?
What saddens me is here’s man who knows the truth and rejects it. What eternal affect does this have on the sinners around him who’ve never known Christ?

The enemy has one plan–destruction through separation from a Holy God. Will I pray for Tonex? Absolutely. Do I care about what happens to him? Absolutely. Do I believe you can be free from sin and be restored back to God if you CHOOSE to be? Yes. Am I rambling because I’m annoyed beyond my limit? Yes…

The first song I heard was “Lord Make me Over”….it seemed the cry of his heart; he asks the Lord to take out what is not like him and that he is tired of his evil ways, and realizes that there are things in his life that are not pleasing. Lynn, I know you said you wouldn’t listen to his music, the words are below and link are below… I am upset with these old preachers and church people preying on the young and vulnerable and the repercussions that are long lasting…It also doesn’t help as the sister mentioned below the Gay Christian Movement is making this lifestyle acceptable and talking about this covenant mess and anyone that had/has any feelings, emotions and attractions to the same sex that they know is against God, they now believe they have an excuse and the Lord condones it..

    Lynn,
I agree with you that there’s a lot not to like about this man. I read in your previous blog post that he said his friends should not trust their girlfriends alone with him, which makes him seem like a person who betrays his friends and who respects women so little that he expects them to be unfaithful.

He also seems to believe his own sucess is a sign of God’s favor, when Jesus has innumerble verses talking to the Pharisees about how they should not believe this about their own wealth and power.

Regarding his sexuality–that’s a whole different issue, and I have known many gay and lesbian people who are holy in their lives and in every sense of the word. Just as I have known a great many straight, gay and lesbian people who have no respect for others.

    To detour into the Bible:
I used to believe in it strongly, and no longer do. I still am sometimes comforted by hymns or psalms. I used to read it avidly as a kid, and be inspired by it. I have also been disturbed by it.

[REMAINDER of COMMENTS DELETED by LYNN DUE TO FALSE DOCTRINE]

LYNN’s RESPONSE: Whenever a person has anything—a club, a group, a website, a blog, a church, etc. that she or he heads…and IF that thing that the person heads declares itself Christian, the head of that thing is held personally responsibe by Jesus Christ for the doctrines it allows to go forth.

After all, if someone brings forth an ungodly doctrine, there is the real possibility that someone reading it will actually believe it and go astray.

Because I refuse to have blood on my hands, I had to delete the false and ungodly doctrine that you put here. This is more than just a blog. This is a place of influence, as I have hundreds of lurkers rolling through here daily.

Reading what you wrote, I see that you are completely confused and not rightly dividing the Word of God.

The time it would take me to right the wrongs in your doctrine is not worth it to me—and in fact, would be a total waste of my time, as your mind is clearly made up.

And finally, the first comment that a person makes to this blog goes to moderation. After that, the comments go straight to the blog. The fact that this is not your first post here, yet it came to me to moderate tells me that the Holy Spirit intervened and caught it before it landed here.

NOTE TO LURKERS: This is a Christian blog. If any post comes on to this blog that contains falsehoods, I WILL go in and delete. Don’t bring contrary doctrines here.

    Lynn

Lynn, understand and appreciate your position…The scripture that came to mind about this tortured soul’s state and the state of the Gay Christian Movement…

Proverbs 14:12 “there is a way that SEEMS right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

This is an egomaniac whose answer, although very slick and polished, are really very empty and weak.
It took shocking, multiple tragedies, in rapid succession, to unleash the trauma of the sexual violation he suffered as a child which I believe resulted in his present sexual confusion.
I am all for calling out nonsense, but what worries me is that the gay movement is turning godly christians into bullies and punks because we will not confront a major contributor to homosexuality: molestation/pedophilia/child sexual exploitation.
The molestation and sexual abuse of our children is shameful, and unfortunately, widespread. But because we are afraid to call out our family members, pastors, teachers, etc., we become willing participants to the crime. We wind up yelling at the end result (homosexuality) instead of pulling up the root.
Thus, the gay movement has thrown off our compass because they keep us from calling out only one sin (homosexuality) instead of all sexual sin: molestation/pedophilia/pornography/whoredom, etc. The gay movement itself becomes impotent in its retorts when confronted with percentages of its population who had been raped, molested, and sexually exploited as children. Notice how Tonex was very definite in his answer that the molestation did not influence his sexual choices. Perhaps he is being used as a tool to show the effects of childhood molestation.
I am not saying that christians should stop denouncing homosexuality, I am just saying that sin is sin and ALL SEXUAL SIN and ITS ROOT CAUSES should be rebuked.

It amazes me how the “saints” sit in the seat of the scornful and exude absolutely NONE of the mindset of Jesus Christ Himself! The church is filled with people that have issues of multiple complexities. Is there ANY ONE who does not have ANY issues AT ALL that qualify them to judge??? Please stand up! The ‘ole folk’ use to say that we can be ‘so heavenly minded that we’re no earthly good’! How WONDERFUL it would be if those who are in ministry capacities become transparent to let others know that God can use ANYBODY INSPITE and DESPITE their inadequacies; regardless of what shape the inadequacies take. Those who have judged Tonex in reference to the all time favorite church bashing subject of homosexuality have position themselves to go TOTALLY against the Word itself: Judge not lest ye be judge! WE all need to look at the moat that’s gleaming in our own eyes. Why can’t the church embrace the Words of Jesus: WHOSOEVER will let him come. Let the saints STOP judging and perpetrating flawlessness and embrace the Word of the Lord….he that is without fault cast the first stone. Anybody out there ready to throw??? My hat is off to you Tonex for being transparent. Tell the saints to stop singing any more Praise and Worship songs from the Psalms…King David was a murderer and an adulterer…go head saints….bring him back and stone him! I DARE YOU!!!!!! Oh, stop reading the King James Bible…[DIRTY LIE ABOUT KING DAVID REMOVED BY LYNN] Saints, let’s do better…STOP JUDGING! We have lost the compassion of Jesus’ total ministry…for God so loved the WORLD that He gave… He gave us grace and mercy! Above all, He shed His blood that covers ALL of our short comings…ALL of them. So what gives us a right to judge ANY body in ANY category? And lastly, we need to be SO careful as to how we condemn God’s creation. The Word the Jesus said is applicable to more tahn we give credence to: the least you do to my littel ones you do it to me! Oh my,,,better you never thought of that one…SAINTS!

LYNN’s RESPONSE: You know what, Tonex…um, I mean, “Tyrone”. Spend your time in the Word, rightly dividing it, okay? NO PLACE in the Word does God tell Christians to sit by namby pamby in silence as people like Tonex on one hand are giving “sermons” and “ministering” and then on the other hand, re-writing scriptures to suit their sins.

God said that if we are neither hot nor cold HE will spit us out of His mouth.

Can’t take this truth? Then WHY did you run a search on Tonex, then come here, read every word and write me this silly note? Stay off the blog if you can’t take it.

We don’t drink cool aid here. Save it for the next Jim Jones.

I realize that this thread was not about all sin, but to compartamentalize homosexuality, without looking at all SEXUAL SIN is myopic.
No where in my writing did I either excuse or condone Tonex’ behavior.
He discussed being molested; that is a factor to be neither ignored nor dismissed. If the door to homosexuality is being opened by the sexual deviancy of child molestation and/or promiscuity, then this issue is to be addressed more comprehensively. The devil is always arrives by invitation, a fact of which all Christians are aware.

I see that my post was totally misconstrued. No worries. I just thought comments were to have a bit more gravitas than finger pointing and ridicule. We can all see that he is outrageous in appearance and opinion. I don’t think a little discussion of what is behind his “falling away” is straying from topic.
    IMHO, of course.
