Innocent until proven guilty, but this does not have a pretty look:
Michael Winans Jr. told investors they could double their money in 60 days. Detroit police identified and interviewed at least 180 investors, but state regulators say the actual number is higher.
“Our investigation found that Michael Winans Jr. orchestrated a scheme that resulted in hundreds of Detroit residents losing millions of hard-earned dollars,” Ross said in a release. “Promising sky-high, guaranteed returns, these scammers unscrupulously fleeced unsuspecting churchgoers who let their financial guard down.”

“A fool and his money are soon parted.”
This should be a wakeup call to church folk that just because the Pastor or your favorite gospel artist recommends it, that it is what God wants you to do.
It also does not guarantee that you will prosper either. Between this and megapreachers trying to convince their flock to invest in casinos that aren’t really casinos because there is a “R” in front and so it is now a ‘Racino’ is no different than the sheister on the street selling it.
People need to educate themselves financially and seek Godly advice on what to do regarding their finances and stop being blinded by WHO is giving this advice, but instead look for the INTENT behind the advice.
Racino? I missed that story. Please tell me you are joking…..or send me some info on that….or write it up as an article for me.
That’s something we expose here.
There are many biblical passages that relate to finances and I am saddened that too many preachers from every walk of life in America do not focus on that. If they had, there would not be a trail of tears behind this fool, nor would there be so many foreclosures. The church and its flock are beholden to a capitlist belief, not a Christian belief.
Lynn,
Yes, Diva is correct about churches supporting ‘Racinos’. Racinos are combined casinos and race tracks.
A pastor in NY filed an application as a stakeholder to invest in a Racino. However, the pastor later withdrew his application saying, “his involvement had become a distraction from his church and community work.” Of course this was AFTER the governor of NY dropped his support of the Racino.

Thanks, RPollard.
Have you written this up yet? If not, perhaps I need to do some research on this and write this up. Enough is enough with these money grabbing “ministers”.
Lynn,
No, I haven’t written anything on Racinos. Be my guest (smile).
