I completely forgot to wish the rest of my neighbors a Merry Christmas! I am wishing you all a Happy New Year as well. I look forward to interacting with you all in 2008 and sharing your thoughts and commentaries on the world.

Lynn, save me a bowl of collard greens and mac & cheese! No one has truly had these dishes until they have come from the kitchen of a true southerner! Once again, please have a safe drive and a blessed gathering!

Merry Christmas, Hicktowners!

Greg and I did not make it to my parents' home last night as planned. We did our last minute shopping, ate, and the rest is history!

So we are getting ready right now. We are going to drive over to Baltimore County and start the gift opening process. We're going to spend the night there tonight. She and my father are cooking Christmas dinner and those two southerners can throw down in the kitchen!

I'll check in on the blog later, as my mom does have a computer.

Diva,

I'm very sorry to hear about the loss of your parents but happy to hear you are holding on and hanging in there. God is a Comforter and there truly is no burden or sorrow that He cannot bear. May the peace that only Jesus, the Prince of Peace can bring, surround and engulf you today and always!

Love,

Lynn

Merry Christmas fellow Hicktowners. This year has made me realize how blessed I am. I really had no holiday spirit since losing both my parents (my mom in 2004 and my dad last year). This year though seeing so many of my friends face hard times... (1 lost her father within 2 years of having lost her mother, another suffered a stroke, and one no longer has family in the NY area). It just made me realize how blessed I am and in helping them through their crisis, it really uplifted me and reinforced that this is truly what Christmas is all about!

Lynn, was that you standing in line in front of me in JC Penny's about an hour ago?? Just kidding, I know you don't live in St. Petersburg, Florida. Have a safe drive to your family gathering and you are so correct about not going wrong by giving cash. Gift cards have been life savers for me.

Merry Christmas everyone, MERRY CHRISMAS.

Dont forget to bring my gift to the Hicktown Dinner. Remember my favorite color is green, I like Classical music, rootbeer floats, Bibles with the spoken words of Jesus in red, and the feel of flease against my skin.
