As a rule, I really have a problem when police officers abuse members of society, but I must say that I am sooooooo happy that they beat the living daylights out of this self-professed “trick daddy”, meaning “pimp”.

Hello Lynn, I don’t know whats up with these ’stars’ and strip clubs; however I just can’t get with a police beat down. Today its him, tomorrow its me.
So you chear police brutality and abuse of power because you don’t like the person they brutalized.
You support them today when it somebody you don’t like, and tomorrow its you because they were incouraged by the public support to keep brutalizing people.

By the way Lynn, a “Trick” is considered to be a sucker, a purchaser of prostitutes, one who tricks with the hookers, it is the opposite of what “Pimp” used to mean. The hookers call them tricks because the usually beat them out of some extra money by robbing them in one way or another.
Don’t let these country coon rappers who cheese (smile) with those grills in their mouths like mondern day minstrels get it twisted.
Oh and by the way, most tricks are usually white men who cruise for Black prostitutes and this includes homosexual hookers because some tricks especially the white man likes to bend over and receive too.
Mind you, I’m not saying this because I hate whitey…this is Real Talk…I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York and I wittenessed alot of things.

Seeing you all are in the topic of “tricks” and “daddy’s”. I have a question. Ms. Lynn please forgive me if this is not the proper forum for this.
Ok here goes. There has been a lot of talk about “disrespect of black women”, the whole rap game, Videos, pornography etc.(And please I am asking a question not stating an opinion). How is it that the last time I checked I didn’t see these rappers having any problem recruiting dancers and what not? Have they been pimped, or “tricked”(excuse my pun). Or do they dance ro do whatever of their own volition. In the same vein how is it that there are lots of women at these concerts.
What if I were to propose that its a matter of females disrespecting themselves, after all if there are no dancers there can be no strip clubs….

Euware Osayande, my husband and I hashed that question out last week on BlogTalkRadio.
There is not one answer. There are several. Some of it is lack of decent environmental exposure (women in the wrong circles). Some of it is lack of self respect or education. Some is ignorance. Some of the ignorance is due to growing up minus a father in the home and not knowing what respect from a man really means.
I did listen to the archives. The fact is those are excuses and not reasons. America is a free enterprise country and the bottom line is as long as there is a market they will be a product to fill the gap.
I live in NYC and consequently walk a lot. It seems as if everyone is fighting to see who can expose more flesh. Politically I am not conservative, in fact I am not anything, but one thing conservatives at least pay lip service to is the fact that we need to take personal responsibility.
When I was growing up I was under the illusion that thugs and criminals and what not would have problem finding relationships, because I assumed that most women had self respect. This obviously is not the case, even some women from “good” homes find these thugs fascinating. I am sure you remember Kemba Smith
