Juanita, I saw you on Daystar this evening and you made several monetary pleas that caught my attention:
a. I heard the Lord say there is at least a thousand of you prepared to sow a thousand dollars
Question: I’ve heard that line so much by so many different ministers that I cannot help but wonder whether it was God or your own mind telling you that. I know the voice of God and that’s not how He talks.
b. When you are in a crisis, sow
Let me get this straight. If a person is a month or two behind on mortgage, they should give the little money they have to a ministry, as opposed to saving that money so they may catch up on the bills and keep a roof over their heads?
When I saw you on television this evening, I honestly hoped that you had changed. But I went to your website to see if it’s back up. And how disappointed I was to see how egocentric it is. It’s all about you and not about Jesus. Hopefully you will change that as the website grows.
You have been through the fire. Please don’t come out of the flames until you get the spirit of lying off of your back. Because the truth is, if you are not truly hearing from God, yet you are quoting Him, you are including Him in a lie and that’s a dangerous place to be!
You did say one thing that I agreed with. You said that the word Christian does not mean stupidity. True. And I hope no one is stupid enough to send their last dollar to your ministry or anyone else’s!

I have a girlfriend who absolutely loves Juanita Bynum, who I think is one of the biggest frauds to grace anybody’s pulpits. What I found equally funny was that she almost lost her house in Georgia for nonpayment of property taxes. What happened to the seeds she sowed. Please. I agree with you Lynn. The Bible didn’t tell you to ignore your obligations. Quite the contrary.
Juanita is off track right now. I sincerely hope she gets back on track. She is a terrific preacher, knows the word. However, she often skews the word for her own purposes.
These people out here better stop playing with God.
I believe that Juanita has lost her sense of purpose. In all the hype, fame, money, husband, cars etc. she forgot that she is called as a prophet of the Most High God. I truly believe that she is called as an end time prophet.
As I continue to pray the Lord’s mercy upon her life, I pray that she will meet the Lord again!
just trying to recall when she was ever on track. I think her time in the mental institution has clouded all of her judgment and just believe she is just crazy.
There was a time when she was “very” much on track, I agree with Monica that she got lost in the “hype”.
I must admit(something I don’t think I ever told Hicktown) I “WAS” a great “fan” in the early days, I attended many of the conferences and in the beignning GOD was the focus–the best one was the 2nd time she did one in Pensacola, Fl. It was called “Come to the Garden”, if you can find video it was powerful. I had NEVER experienced anything quiet like it. I remember one of the most moving things was the first time she came on stage and when she saw the crowd(cause the year before in the same place it had been a flop) she turned her back to the crowd and began to pray–you would have to see it to understand. Also one night leaving the service coming out of a concert corridor all you could hear was the booming echo of women speaking in tongues and praising God, there were women laying on the pavement, grass wherever praying and giving God the praise. Even in resturants around town we were giving God the praise(not acting like fools, but there was such a spirit of unity)I don’t care what anybody says God was THERE!
I just wanna see her truly repent and get back on track–she just got too big for her britches(skirt)lol, my mother-in-law(God rest her soul) always said you could “see” sin on people. I stopped by her website–she “looks” a mess. It’s so sad.
Whew…
I really did enjoy “No More Sheets.” I thought it was a powerful message for single women. From my vantage point, she fell off after that. She became super popular after that sermon and her head blew up. If only she would have been able to remain grounded and stayed closer to the Lord. She actually became very worldly acting after that. Something even went down between her and T.D. Jakes and she ended up begging his forgiveness on T.B.N. She got all dramatic and ended up kneeling in front of him and giving him her shoes as some sort of symbolic gesture. Does anyone remember that??
I will admit that I enjoyed the No More Sheets video and was blessed by it as well as the book. She is also a very talented singer, but after the public circus between she and the bishop and it being revealed that her own house is not in order, she can no longer minister to me, or ask me for a quarter.
God helps those who help themselves. She still has a WHOLE LOTTA work to do in my book.
@DeeLove, yeah I remember that it happened right before her Weapons of Power conference in ST Louis in ‘03.
I meet some women in St Louis who had been there and told us about it before it hit tv. It was the yr Jakes held Woman Thou Art Loose in Tx, instead of ATL, she was not on the program but went there to “repent” for what had happened between them–I never knew the whole story, but it was something bout her wanting the rights to her “stuff” from Jakes’ conferences–you know, bout da money.
There is a video called “The Prodigal Daughter”(if you can find it somewhere) of what happened because she wound up preaching, mostly on herself–how she let people blow her head up and turn her against da Bishop.
She seemed truly sorry and her demeanor was solemn once she got to St Louis, I don’t know if it was just stress or physical but she had to be taken to the hospital during her conference.
I guess “Abusive Marriage” doesn’t fall under the “crisis”
category, so “sowing” couldn’t save it….
Give me a break. I have just one scripture for you Juanita,
Rev 2:4-5 “Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. REMEMBER therefore from whence thou art FALLEN, and REPENT, and DO the FIRST WORKS, or else I will come unto thee QUICKLY, and will REMOVE thy candlestick out of his place, except thou REPENT”
I pray she gets HERSELF off of the throne and put JESUS back in His rightful place in her life.
@ godlysoldier–”sowing couldn’t save it…” LOL
It’s always been about money (that has been consistent) even though she was supposedly “on track” (just my opinion) a lot emotionalism, but does it bring about change in our lives, after all of excitement has died down. I saw her here in Portland twice and at Woman Thou Art Loosed in ATL, it was the same $1000 request and only those who gave could get prayed for.
So what happens at one of her conferences if you desire prayer and don’t have $1000??
she tells you to get out of line, it is only for those who have listened to God and are obedient for this one special blessing! I have seen it happen. Then what happens, they will start a $500 line, then $100. At WTL in ATL in 2000 TD Jakes was building some kind of wall and it started out at 10,000 (CC Winans gave that amount). I have just learned that sometimes as blacks we are too emotional, get caught up in the hype and emotion. Don’t read the word of God for ourselves and rightly divide the word of Truth. God has already spoken to us through his Word, and all of these “special messages, special anointings, doctors, prophets, lions, tigers and bears “oh my:)” that are going to “literally change” our lives, but we have to purchase it. I have been watching and being a follower of these tv evangelists since the 70s from Oral Roberts, Jim Bakker, “ernest angely”:):), Jimmy Swaggart, Rex Humbard, to the 80s Carlton Pearson, Fred Price, Kenneth Hagin, 700 Club, Rex Humbard, in the 90s comes the TD Jakes, and all the crew to today, there seems to be a theme. I don’t watch TV preachers anymore, all I hear is prosperity, wealth, money, and commercials. I am trying to recall anyone preaching anymore today that we need to repent and turn from our wicked ways and the blood of Jesus cleansing us from all sin and inquity. just saying….you know John 3:16….whosover believeth in him should not perish. Not much preaching on how to prepare ourselves to meet the King and be found in him, and to prepare for when he calls us home, to much focus on this present. Everyone is dropping like flies…
It’s the same sin over and over again, PRIDE. Lucifer (the worshiping archangel) would go in and out of the presence of God. Each time Lucifer would enter into God’s presence, God’s glory could be seen on him by the other angels. The angels (who did not see God face to face) saw the glory on Lucifer and began to worship Lucifer. Lucifer’s head began to swell with PRIDE and plotted to overthrow God to get His throne (foolish). Hence, Lucifer and the rebellious angels were kicked out of heaven and Lucifer became Satan because of his PRIDE. Juanita Bynum and others start out with good intentions. Loving and worshiping God. The anointing and glory is seen on their lives and people begin to pump up their heads and tell them how anointed and powerful they are. The ministers get full of PRIDE and start believing the hype and lose their focus on God and put the focus on themselves. And we know PRIDE goes before a fall…
@OregonSista
I agree that much of it is a play on emotions, and we(us black folk, especially) have been lead to believe that if I doesn’t come with a hoop and a holler and some promises of “what the Lawd bout to do” we can’t execept it. I’m over the hype as well, I haven’t been around as long as you, but I’ve seen alot even on a local level–there are still geniune people of God but you have to watch carefully for them with so many wolves in sheep clothing lurking about.
I went to her website yesterday. Has anyone else visited lately?
She now has a video on there explaining her new website. It is really long but I can tell you this…she spends a much longer time showing her make-up and pictures of herself then she does about the Word of God.
Also, she says that she has pretty much been all over the world doing things for the Lord but when you view the pictures it seems that she has only been 1 or 2 places because the pics are of the same people.
I am not saying that 1 or 2 places aren’t good. But why brag about being all over the world when that is not the case. Why must you have to prove to people that you are not sitting down feeling sorry for yourself after what happened between you and your husband. Maybe you need to sit down and feel sorry about the situation and get some HUMILITY! Remember, Miss Bynum you said that this was a God ordained marriage!
Finally, the last part of the video she actually says … “for those of you who need your ‘fix’” – yep she actually said that. That is when she begin to show videos of her speaking.
I will continue to pray for this woman.
Monica, thank you for the video editorial. You just saved me from wasting my time. It sounds like she hasn’t learned a thing. It would have been so nice to see her learn and grow from her experience and break out with something to top “No More Sheets.” I’ll just skip right on over her “fixes”, thank you very much!
LOL @ DeeLove,
I have never really been a huge Juanita Bynam fan – I listened to her from time to time but she did too much screaming for my liking.
However, I will say that her TESTIMONY, “No More Sheets” really helped me through some rough nights. I was newly saved when she came out with that video and I literally listened to it almost every night as I was learning and adjusting to what it meant to be abstinent.
Wal-Mart actually has the No More Sheets DVD on sale for about $14.00. I thought about purchasing it because I presently minister to teens/youth and I thought that it would help some who are going through in that area. I haven’t purchased it because I figure that there are many of us who share the same testimony and I could use mine or others to help.
No More Sheets goes down as a classic and a must have for single women as far as I am concerned. I have a VHS copy that doesn’t play very well, so I think I will replace it with a new DVD. In spite of her more recent actions, that message still stands true.
yeah, it does stand true – too bad she didn’t listen to her own message!
Gosh, I haven’t seen it in awhile, but did purchase it. she was discussing still sleeping with people in the church while she was “saved”, and men how they kept picking other women to marry, and going after these unattainable men, and still committing fornication. I just felt she was discussing her craziness and sin, and shouting no more sheets, but was still sleeping around. I felt it showed women at the time, Juanita had sex and was caught up, I can be caught up and God will forgive me. Juanita went through it. I just never really liked her because I felt she was a bully that I saw growing up and was someone I would never have as a friend. Too much drama…

A new role on the TV show “Lincoln Heights”, a make-up line, bath and body products line and a movie of “No More Sheets.” Is she a minister of the Gospel of Christ or a celebrity? I thought her “destiny” was preaching to save the lost!
Juanita Bynum started out looking like Suzy Sanctified, wearing no form-fitting clothes while berating women who did. She also beat up every woman who wore make-up. When she got some money and popularity she flipped the script. She exposed her shapely figure, packed on the MAC, underwent plastic surgery and accused everyone of being a hater who questioned the change. Juanita Bynum never preached sound doctrine. First of all she can’t preach. Screaming and hollering about what God told you, is not preaching. Fussing ain’t preaching! She should have given her testimony about being a whore in the church and then sat down! Forgive me for sounding harsh but I’m sick of people building ministries off of their testimony and then changing their message when their popularity increases. MOST of the sisters that I met around the country, NOT ALL of them, who were blessed by No More Sheets were sisters who attended church regularly, preached, prophesied, led praise and worship, ministered in every area in ministry YET had no problem committing fornication and adultery. No More Sheets co-signed on their licentious behavior because after all, “Look at Juanita, God blessed her anyway!” I do acknowledge that there are those whose lives have been genuinely blessed by No More Sheets. But I will forever maintain that many did not come out from under the sheets (their own words) they just felt like “I can relate to Juanita!” Again, I do not want to trivialize anyones positive experience from her ministry, but Juanita has done alot of damage. There are countless sheep that have been scattered by her ministry. When she led prayer she was anointed. When she branched out into things that she obviously was not anointed to do it bore no fruit. Her new website confirms her own words, “I am taking my place in the WORLD.” Whether someone is a Juanita Bynum fan or not, the way her life and ministry has fallen apart is evidence not that she lost her way, but rather she was on the wrong road from the beginning.
Destiny’s Lady, you are so on point, as usual.
DestinysLady,
I actually don’t agree with you that Juanita cannot preach. In my opinion, she can preach, plus knows the Word.
She has gotten off track, off focus and off point. And once off track, the devil has the authority to take people to the shed, which is what is being done to her.
Lynn:
I must respectfully disagree. I personally do not like JB’s style of “preaching”. She is too crass and void of substance. But that is not why I say she is not a preacher. Based on the biblical definition of preaching JB does not cut the mustard. To preach or teach the Word is to preach the TRUTH about God. Her money lines, threshing floor and prophecies that don’t come to pass are just a few of the untruths that she preaches about God. JB is an excellent exhorter/encourager. When leading people in prayer and worship she is on point. When she assumes the posture of preacher/teacher she is waaaay off mark. I would challenge anyone to take one of her books and see if they line up precept upon precept. They do not. She combines some truth with conjecture season it with emotion and calls in Gospel. Not so. She is gifted, talented, harsh and very bitter. (I understand and do empathize with her disdain toward her “fathers” in the ministry). However, she “preaches” so much error that she borders on being heretical. She no longer introduces herself with the “prohetess” title. That’s good because I don’t know one of her prophecies that have come to pass. I would pay to hear at the secular Essence Festival, but I would go to hear her for free at church. This not a personal indictment. As a minister I am very sensitive about this because many lambs and sheep have been led to slaughter by this woman. I will forever believe that if Juanita would have continued in what she was anointed to do – she would be taking her place in the House of God instead of the world. We are supposed to judge the fruit of the one who claims to be a disciple of God. I am just a fruit inspector and I conclude that Juanita Bynum’s fruit began to rot long before the beatdown in the parking lot.

While I am not a fan of the Sheets phenomenon, I do know that Juanita was humble and sincere back then. The great qualities that she has (generous, caring, loving) were all overshadowed when she tried to fight in someone else’s armor. As a minister and former colleague I am very sensitive about this because many lambs and sheep have been led to slaughter by this woman. I will forever believe that if Juanita would have continued in what she was anointed to do – she would be taking her place in the House of God instead of the world. It’s okay for Christians to disagree with each other, DestinyLady.
I’ve heard many of her sermons. I’ve heard her when she is “on” and truly into God and I’ve heard her when she is preaching out of ego.
She can definitely preach—when whe wants to.

Why would you want it deleted? There is nothing wrong with it.
I omitted a few words. I meant to say, “I would pay to hear her “speak” at the secular Essence Festival, but I would not go to hear her “preach” for free at church.” The best I heard JB is when she first was on TBN by herself just encouraging from the word. You are right – when she wants to…. Thanks.
