Oh, it’s Sunday! I thank the Lord, Jesus Christ that He has blessed me to see another Sunday! Do you know how many people there are who did not wake up this morning?
Not only did I wake up. But I arose in my right mind. Limbs working. Happily married. BOTH my parents still alive and in good health. THANK YOU, Jesus!
Whew, I feel a praise coming on, HickTowners!
Clear away all the chairs and tables ’cause Sister Lynn is about to get loose. LOL!
Hey, Cop! Brother man you are looking at a happy sister today.
My 80 year old aunt is in the process of making her transition, ya’ll. In spite of all the prayers, Aunt Rosa is about to go Home to be with the Lord. But I don’t believe that the cancer won in her case. She is saved so the truth of the matter is, JESUS has the victory.
The worst that can happen to Aunt Rosa is that she go Home to Heaven to be with the Lord. That’s GOOD NEWS! Yes, I’m going to cry when it finally happens. Of course I’m going to miss her. Can’t imagine life and my family unit without her. I’ll miss that great cooking. Her southern hospitality. Her gossip. I’ll miss everything about her. But God! Thank You, Jesus! It is going to be alright.
Hey Bria, AJ, Chelle, and Denise (both Denise’s), I have a clip to show you. My favorite types of ministers are the “Old Time” ministers. Do you all know Bishop Patterson? He’s with the Lord now, but he was a mighty man of God. Check out this clip!

Clip of the Bishop preaching about the “Blood” of Jesus!
Clip of the Bishop singing about the Lord opening the Book of Life and finding our Record there!

I Thank God for you! I was born and raised as C.O.G.I.C! Bishop Patterson was a wonderful man of God. So I am definitely familiar with these circles. I got to tell the truth. Although, I am non denominational now, C.O.G.I.C gave me discipline and a great foundation to this very day. I honestly loved his singing and his ministry. When he went died the “true saints of God” got there party on right. He spoke as a father and ministered as a priest. My Lord when he would sing, you had no other choice but clap your hands and stomp your feet. Thanks Lynn, for the memories!
Denise6,
That song that Bishop Patterson sang truly ministered to me this evening! Ooh, that man was truly anointed of God and I know that he is with the Lord at this very moment. He stood as a shining example of the “old time” ministers. The new wave preachers and ministers need to look to him as their example!
Thanks Lynn, that was a much needed clip. It sounds like your you Aunt Rosa has lived a full life with the love of family and most importantly knows the Lord. I pray for comfort for you and your family.
Good Post!!
Thanks, AJ
Yes, Aunt Rosa has lived a very full life, which is why I’m trying hard not to be selfish. She is ready to meet her Maker.
And Ann, thanks! I appreciate your support.
God has blessed us with mothers, true.
But, there is something about Aunts that is truly special. Her name was Juanita, but when I was little I couldn’t pronounce her name, so it came out Nita. My Auntie Nita, passed (here comes the tears) two years this past January, and I’m still not able to speak of her without a smile and tears mingled together. I love my mother dearly. But, it was my Auntie Nita, that I shared “all” my secrets with. I was because of her that I learned the true meaning of unconditional love. I can still hear her raspy laugh (she smoked two packs of cigarettes daily) and the smell of Jean Nate, when I was whining about my back hurting from carrying grocery bags. “children don’t have back bones, so hush ” Yes, I am truly blessed. God is so good, what beautiful memories I have. And yes, Bishop Patterson was a true saint of God. He must be on the minds and hearts of many a Christian. After, the Bynum-Weeks fiasco, my mother and a close friend and I began reminiscing (about Bishop), we found and old tape with Bishop and Rance Allen, and had a we had a good time just worshiping and praising God.
Wow Chelle,
Thanks for sharing that testimony about your aunt. You know, even though we know our loved ones are saved and going to Heaven, it still hurts, doesn’t it? Wow!
Thanks Lynn for that refreshing. Thank god for the aunt Rosa’s in our lives. I used to watch Bishop Patterson before I went to church. He was truely, truely one of the BEST preachers in the world. Awesome man that always knew how to divide the Word. I miss him.
Lynn, I am sorry about your aunt but I am also happy for her. You know when you got a family member that you love on like that it is truly a honor. I personally cannot say that I have had that experience. I can say that I am a aunt who gives lots of love and big hugs. I got lots of uncles I adore. After these horrific two weeks I can appreciate this breath of fresh air.
I pray that this really gives everyone that power pill for the weeks and years to come. I personally understand the strength in a song when there are no words to say. I even go back and get some of those songs that will minister to that place only you know that God has to reach way down to bring you back.
When I think of all the wonderful men and women of the Lord who stood for something it revives me. I know many may say they were old fashioned and strict. I thank God that he used others as carving tools for the rest. I am praying for you and your family and just know earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal.
@Everyone This is to all that are going through something today get a song that will take you to that next level or motivates you to smile from within. Get a good comedy and a big belly laugh. It is medicine for the heart and soul… Be Blessed everyone!
Denise, I like your idea about getting a good comedy to enjoy. I believe I’ll do that this weekend. Thanks!
Lynn
