I’m Voting AGAINST McCain and FOR Obama

I am a conservative who would have voted Republican had Huckabee or any other decent Republican won for the party.

Since it’s obvious that John McCain—the sick looking war mongerer who boasts about a 100 year war is going to be the Repubican nominee, I’ll just come right out and say that I’m officially switching to Obama.

It’s unfortunate that the Republicans could not find anyone to run for office who was worthwhile but I REFUSE not to vote. My ancestors suffered for my right to vote and I’m going to vote for the lesser of the evils. Sometimes in life we have to do that.

In the Maryland election, I voted for Huckabee as a “protest” vote.

Now it’s time to get down to business. I’m working AGAINST John McCain. He looks like hell warmed over—unhealthy looking and obviously out of touch with any type of reality. What makes that war loving geezer think that people want to keep wasting trillions of dollars and thousands of American lives on a silly and needless war? is he out of his mind? Apparently, yes.

So…you’ll be seeing more and more positive “Obama” posts here because we cannot afford another Clinton tenure. Believe me!

Wow, Lynn… this election is putting everybody through changes. I’m on record saying I’d vote for McCain over Hillary. Ann Coulter and them say they’ll vote for Hillary over McCain.

The weirdest thing of all is how the planets are seeming to line up to put Barack Obama in the White House. If Obama is the Democratic nominee, you couldn’t pick a better opponent than McCain. Obama is young, vigorous, optimistic. McCain is old, pale and gloomy.

The Republicans will have to play the race card (if Hillary doesn’t beat them to it)… otherwise they got no shot.

    Very interesting…
This is about the 4th blog I’ve been to where someone said they were changing their vote to Obama, but they are all switching for totally different reasons! Very interesting!

    Dear Lynn,

I am shocked! You, republican, conservative?

I now believe that you meant what you said – you are truly born again to have been touched by this Damascus-Road conversion and transformation of the spirit.

You, and many, many, many others like you, in their millions, have come to accept that brother Barry Hussein Obama is not such a bad one after all. Just as they accepted brother Hakeem Olajuwon of the 2-times NBA champions Houston Rockets a few years ago.

    That is the miracle.

    Absolutely stupendous.

    Positively super mega!

If Huckabee does not win the Republican election then I will not be voting this year. Yes, I am aware of all that it took to allow me the right to vote – however, I feel it is a right and not necessarily an obligation. They allowed me the right to choose (before it wasn’t even an option).

Again, if Huckabee does not win, I won’t have anyone to vote for. Barack and Hillary both stand for things that I am totally against and for me to vote for either one would in essence say that I am FOR those very things that I say that I am against. I don’t believe Barack is a “bad” person, I just cannot agree on his take on some things. There are some things that are a “deal breaker” for me.

Yeah, Lynn, McCain is scary! I really cannot believe that it has come down to this!

But I am sure that there is purpose in all of it.

I agree with Monica. The bible speaks of wars and rumors of wars. So I can not walk in fear in that aspect.

However,I have 2 sons in the military now on active duty. One of my sons is currently on ship that searches the ocean for mines. So that alone keeps me lifting him up in prayer. And my other son is currently state side however, next month he will be leaving to go back overseas. I am retired military also, so regardless how I feel about war, I will not support what Obama and Clinton stand for.

As we know these are the last days so all I can do is seek the wisdom and direction of God on what to do in this situation.

    Greetings Everyone,

God continues to tell us throughout His Word that in all that we do and say when making choices that its better that “we obey God than to sacrifice” (Samuel 15:22). When it comes to voting someone for president, choosing a mate, etc we need to seek Him first (Matt. 6:33)and follow his lead (Proverbs 3:5-7) for He knows the heart and intentions of man, woman, boy and girl. With that I like to share an article I found regarding the statement of choosing the “lesser of two evils” (a secular statement) when voting for a president. I heard many people and Christians use that statement, but felt disturbed in my spirit that it doesn’t line up with the Word of God. God tells us to Shun or avoid evil (Abstain from all appearance of evil. 1 Thess.5:22). Below is an excerpt of the article that confirmed what I felt disturbed in my spirit about the “lesser of two evils” statement in voting for a President in what Christians should do when selecting a president.

    Thanx

    Be Blessed…:)

Article: Well, the following is some guidance and some
thoughts offered by Teno Groppi (compiled by Karl
Priest) for anyone tempted to vote for the lesser of
    two evils.

“Settling for the lesser evil is exactly why we keep
getting worse and worse candidates. If we will settle
for someone who appears just one step to the right of
liberal Democrats, that’s all the Republicans will
ever offer us. We will NEVER get any better if we
    continue to support lesser evils.

“We’re accountable for whom we vote, not for who wins.
The results are up to God; our job is to DO RIGHT.

“Every vote for a godly candidate is a vote for a
godly candidate, no matter who wins.

“If you vote for a [false]pseudo-conservative then YOU
are responsible for purposely voting them into office.
If you vote for a godly candidate you are responsible
for supporting a godly candidate, no matter who wins.

“We don’t even have to have our candidate win to
accomplish much of importance. The last few
presidential elections have been virtual dead heats.
If we had even a 5% bloc of solid, principled,
constitutional conservatives who would not compromise,
the GOP would know they needed that 5% if they ever
wanted to win. Then they’d HAVE to run a more
conservative candidate to win back our votes.

“All that’s needed is for Christians to stop throwing
away their votes on lukewarm frauds and vote only for
godly candidates. That’s what will make those parties
viable. If Christians stop voting for moderate/liberal
fakers, the 3rd party candidates would get enough
votes to at least force the GOP to run honest
conservatives if they want to win. That’s all it
takes. The problem is simply that Christians won’t
stand for righteousness. They want to support a
“winner”, even if that winner is 75% liberal. So long
as the other guy is 90% liberal, they think they’re
    doing well.

“If Republicans were the answer, America should be a
    virtual Eden by now.

“That’s not to say Democrats are the answer, but they
are at least honest about being liberals and
socialistic. The GOP has had plenty of chances, but
there are not enough truly conservative Republicans to
enact their own platform. The “Big Tent” philosophy
has done nothing but make the GOP more like the
Democrats. If they cannot keep their own party
conservative and constitutionally American, how could
they possibly bring the country in the right
    direction?

“If you vote for a pseudo-conservative you actually
have voted for a loser. Christians have gotten so far
away from God’s word that they no longer have a clue
of what winning and losing is. Winning is doing RIGHT,
no matter what. Compromise is LOSING.

“I’m not concerned with being a majority. I’m
concerned with being RIGHT. I’d rather be in the
minority and be RIGHT. I’d rather vote for a godly
    “loser” than an ungodly “winner”.

“We need to SPEAK UP and vote for politicians who will
not compromise. I’d rather vote for a loser than vote
for a winner who won’t deliver on why I voted for him.

“Democrats and Republicans are two wings of a bird
    flying the WRONG way!

“. . . Democrats and Republicans are two degrees of
the same poison. One is slow acting and the other is
fast acting. Either way society is heading for death
    (judgment).”

    THE RESPONSE

Looking at the facts in the scenario and the above
advice provided by Groppi and Priest, what should I do
in the voting booth? Pull the lever for McCain or any
of the other compromising GOP candidates and get 4
more years of unprincipled political poppycock where
none of the issues near and dear to me is ever
effectively addressed? Or do I withhold my vote or
vote for any third party candidate who more closely
reflects my personal beliefs and principles knowing
full well that the chances of electing a Democrat
would insure 4 years of further entrenchment of the
culture of death and a continued slouching toward
    Gomorrah?

It seems to me the choice is clear and by not voting
for either party as many did in 2006 or voting for a
principled third party candidate will send a loud and
clear message that the status quo, even if it means
allowing God to reprove America through the godless,
evil Democrat Party platform and policies, that is
better than continuing to accept compromise. Maybe the
GOP will hear the message my 3rd party vote or my
“non-vote” will send them in 2008, if they do not put
forth an acceptable candidate. At this point only Rep.
Duncan Hunter and Ambassador Alan Keyes fit the bill
for me as completely acceptable candidates. Governor
Mike Huckabee at this point could be considered
marginally acceptable at best, which might in itself
be an admission that he too is neither sufficiently
godly nor sufficiently conservative to get my vote.
