I have not forgotten that I promised to highlight some positive ministries. In fact, I’m working behind the scenes on one now.
In the interim, the pulpit pimps, prostitutes, panhandlers, pedophiles, and perverts just won’t stop misbehaving.
Hey, Pastor Darrell Gilyard, step on up in here and take a seat. It’s your time to sit on the hot seat in the center of HickTown as the Lord exposes your butt. First of all, WHAT made you think God wouldn’t expose you? He has exposed Bynum and Weeks, Swaggart, Jim Bakker, Paula White, Zachery Tims, and a TON of others, so what made you think that you would slide by on ice skates?
Go ahead and sit on the Hot Seat, dude:
Pastor Darrell Gilyard takes a leave of absence from Shiloh Metropolitan Baptist Church days after a local woman complained to police that Gilyard sent inappropriate text messages to her teenage daughter. The mother said the text messages were sexually explicit.
Sexually explicit messages to a young girl, huh? And what I really find interesting is that he has requested to take a leave of absence WITH PAY! Huh? If his church falls for that one, they are nuts. Let home-boy go find a job. Why should his church members have to foot the bill because he—a married man, is sending filthy messages to a young girl?
Here is the good Pastor Preaching about King David…COUGH…..the adulterer. How ironic!

Unfortunately I know exactly where his church is located. These preachers should be grateful they are being dealt with now for their sins. They should get on their knees and repent as David did instead of acting like King Saul(and you know what happened to him because of his attitude). Sure they will still have a price to pay but at least it won’t be their soul.
Yvette, I would be scared to play games like that with God but these perverted pedophiles and pimps and pandhandlers are just kids in a candy store.
Lynn,
I’ve heard this man speak several times. He is indeed a talented orator. But then even the devil can change into an angel of Light. I used to wonder why people follow these guys, but years ago my spiritual father told me, “sheep are some dumb folk”. That just about sums it up.
We really need your series on Positive Ministries.
The Lord Bless You Ministry this year,
Mando1
Mando, you and Pastor Chris are the resident pastors here in HickTown. Christ has promised me he will allow me to highlight his church. You need to send me some information so I can highlight yours also!
Lynn
Thanks for your website and for all you all do to help Christians “…earnestlty contend for the faith”. Here’s a synopsis of the transpirations from 14 years ago when Darrell Gilyard first came to Jacksonville — by God’s grace, I confronted at that time him about his sexual misconduct out west.
In April, 1993, I prayerfully confronted Darrell Gilyard at Shiloh’s old auditorium, after having studied the pre-1993 facts carefully. I told Darrell that he was Biblically disqualified from the Pastorate due to various improprieties with women out west — see I Timothy 3:1-8 relative to the Pastor’s qualifications. In that short meeting, he literally ran through the auditorium to get away from the rebukes. I sent a follow-up letter to Darrell Gilyard outlining the reasons for disqualification. Within a week, two of his Deacons asked to meet with me, both of whom proved that they, too, were disqualified from office. Deacon Herman Sykes told me that I was nuts and Deacon Copeland said, “We don’t care what he’s done, as long as he wins souls”. Both Deacons subsequently filed an unjust complaint against me with the State Attorney’s office because of my tenacious rebuke of Gilyard’s evils.
The Lord Jesus gave me victory at the SA (state attorney) mediation. The mediator asked both Deacons whether they had reviewed the documentation I had relative to Gilyard’s pre-1993 improprieties; both said “no”, as you can confirm from the SA file. The mediator then gave both deacons copies of the documentation and insisted that they take it home for review. Before concluding the meeting, the mediator only asked that I stop preaching about Gilyard’s pre-1993 evils on WCGL radio. I had already begun to rebuke the director of that station (Pastor Ralph Jennings) who interrupted one of my paid broadcasts on the Gilyard subject with an unjust censure and unscriptural letter to me for my rebukes of Gilyard. By God’s grace, I simply did my job as a local pastor (then and now) to help warn and protect the people of God, even at great personal risk and in the face of willful ignorance on the part of the aforementioned deacons. Although Shiloh’s Deacons and Darrell Gilyard could perhaps be facing civil and criminal litigation, I do have a clear conscience in knowing that I obeyed The Lord Christ while doing my best to prevent further harm upon Shiloh and upon other innocent women by Darrell Gilyard.
In essence, the deacons made a terrible error in 1993 in terms of hiring Darrell Gilyard. Nevertherless, we at Mt. Charity remain prayerful for their repentance in accordance with II Corinthians 7:9-11. We pray that they’ll come clean through Christ’s blood and begin rebuking evil men who commit horrific crimes against heaven and humanity, rather than trying to cover the sin of those responsible for such heinous offenses.

(1 John 3:9 — “No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God’s seed abides in him, and he cannot keep on sinning because he has been born of God”).
I am a former victim of Darrell’s back in 1991. I had just turned 18. What happened with me was the beginning of the “investigation” that ended up exposing many other improprieties. As you all know, he lost his church in Texas then.
I am now cooperating with the current situation and join you in trying to get him to stop victimizing. This all should have ended his preaching days long ago.
Please read my blog regarding the case and the plea for more of you who were victimized (either recently or in the past) We need your testimony to solidify this case. We don’t want to see him walk again because of church cover up. I know it is risky and scary to come forward, but you will have to live with the knowledge that you let him get away if you don’t speak up. I lived with it for the last 17 years, although I spoke up at the time, I allowed the church to handle it and was let down. This time he is facing criminal charges on minors. Together, we are many – please don’t let there be more victims!!!

Thank you Hicktown for exposing the truth. I believe God is trying to clean up the churches. The scandal’s are a bad testimony to the world, but the church not putting an end to it looks a whole lot worse! We cannot brush things under the rug, it will resurface again!
