Fugitive, Bishop Weeks Expected to Turn Self in Today

Update #5

I’m now starting to wonder about and question the sanity of Bishop Weeks. He attacked his wife several days ago. A hotel employee had to pull him off of her. Weeks fled the scene. In spite of being fully aware of the fact that there is a live warrant issued for his arrest, he has chosen not to turn himself in. Yesterday, the Atlanta police officially deemed him a fugitive.

Speaking through his lawyer, he indicated that he “is not admitting guilt” and that there are a variety of “mitigating circumstances” surrounding the case. In other words, he has searched out an excuse for stomping his wife.

Because I am not a lawyer, I looked up the definition of “mitigating” and here it is:

(law) a circumstance that does not exonerate a person but which reduces the penalty associated with the offense Source

Oh, I get it! As I guessed, he actually believes that there is a circumstance under which it is okay to choke, punch, push to the ground, kick, then stomp a woman. And not just any woman, but but his own wife. NOW I’m upset. What kind of a horrible person is he?

Those of you who have the same interest in this case that I do, put this blog on your favorites  list and tell all your friends that this blog will cover this case until its end. So you may as well just kick off your shoes and get comfortable.

Prophetess Bynum needs justice in this case.Yes, as a born-again Christian, I understand that vengeance belongs to God. But let us not forget that God also told us to obey the laws of the land. The law of this land is that a man DOES NOT attack his wife.

God admonished us to love one another. Jesus NEVER attacked or stomped His bride (the Church) and Bishop Weeks will NOT get away with stomping Juanita Bynum. She is not a roach but a human being and woman of God. Disagree with her doctrines if you desire. That is fine. But what does her doctrines have to do with her being abused? I plan to stay all over this. Email me any tips you hear about. My email addres is Hicktownpress [@] gmail.comHis lawyer announced that he will turn himself in, apparently today.UPDATED VIDEO

Thank you so much for what you have written on this case. I have read far too many folks’ comments supporting this man and acting like his actions are acceptable simply because he is a so-called man of God. I am sorry, but actions speak louder than words, and the fact that he would stomp his wife in the street says a lot more to me about his character than any of his many lectures. I understand that anger can make us act out of character, but this was extreme. It makes me wonder what they could have been discussing for things to get this out of hand.

The wife beater has turned himself in. Would nice if he received a beating while in jail. But it is probably a formality and he won’t spend any time.

Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. Regardless of what he did, he is still a man of God. I don’t condone it at all but the Word of God says “touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.” They both operate in the prophetic. I think we need to do a little more praying than judging. Judge not lest ye be judged. For all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God. Who are we to judge? Just because your sins weren’t exposed publicly. How would you feel if the shoes were on the other foot. How would you handle it? How about we pray for the both of them.

To me, your articles sounds like the tabloids that you are itching for more like the world. If you claim to be a Christian, why are you going and writing the world’s way? I thank God for being a forgiving God and a Merciful God. You write it, but remember, you too shall reap what you have sown. Don’t add more damage to the body of Christ. How about edify the body and post prayers for the Bishop and Prophetess Bynum Weeks? I am praying for them both. If any of you lack wisdom, let him seek God. If you know God, and you love Him then you should know that the enemy has been fighting them so hard because of THEIR great ministry and their call. They both have a Global ministry and the enemy is laughing and you are helping him bring down the body of Christ. So, I ask you, who’s side are you really on. Follow peace with all men, without which no man shall see the Lord. I pray for you.

God gave us intellect and the capacity for critical thought for a reason. People kill me going around quoting scripture like that is supposed to end the conversation. Does this person not think it’s newsworthy that a high profile “Bishop” stomped his wife in the street? This is a couple who had a ministry about relationships while their own relationship was apparently unravelling – that is not judgment, that is just a fact. Just because this man is a religious figure, he doesn’t get a pass, and he is not above the law. And wouldn’t “toucn not mine anointed” apply to Juanita also? We all make judgements about people all the time, and those who are public figures know that they live under intense scrutiny.

How in the world is the administrator of this site injuring the Body of Christ by providing news about this sad situation? It would be sensationalistic to imply that the “Bishop” was having a homosexual affair which is what I’ve read in other places, but no one here has said anything like that. Church folks are some of the most gossipy that you will ever meet, but now all of a sudden, I am reading all these comments about not judging this character. Please. I hope the courts judge him for what he’s done and set an example for all other wife beaters out here terrorizing women. The devil didn’t make him stomp his wife in the street, he did that himself.

Thank you all for your responses. I must say this again, I am not condoning what he did by any means. Let’s make that clear. Yes, it was wrong. However, there are two sides to every story.
To the writer, this is hard for me because I am a member of Global Destiny and it hits home for us. We still love our Bishop and we know he is a man of God. We will support him and 1st Lady because the enemy will not have them.
How would you feel if it was your Spiritual Father and Spiritual Mother? Or your earthly father and mother? If this is your job to report and write the story that is fine. Just remember that both of them are still God’s children. God will get the Glory out of this.
This will be the last time that I write. So, I pray that you all will pray for them. That too is our Christian duty. Love you all in Christ Jesus.

    NOTE FROM LYNN GREEN

[SCRIPTURES REMOVED by Lynn Green (adminstrator) because Dee chose to ignore my note to give an explanation for each posted scripture. I am NOT playing games here. If you cannot explain the scripture and how it relates to this news, do not put it here because it's coming down.

Now I understand what's going on. Dee apparently is one of the bishop's members so even though she is on this blog like everyone else searching out the news, she decided to insult me for posted the very news she seeks. And I'm the hypocrite? Then she tells me she loves me? And is praying for me? Wow, that's scary!]

Just to clarify, I wasn’t dodging the question. The scripture that I posted was right after my very first comment which took a while to load to the comments post. I wrote that before all the comments came in to me.

    God bless you all.

People always want to use the “touch not my annointed” verse to excuse or justify “the anointed’s” actions and think they are not be held accountable and God forbid I say or do anything about it when they do wrong. Not so. He should have used his anointing to put his flesh under and not beat his wife. ALL Christians are “anointed” according to 1 John 2:20. So then none of us should “touch” or talk about or report anything any of us do then if we are going to use that scripure that way. If Meeks has any integrity at all the only thing he should do behind that pulpit Sunday if he is there at all, is apologize to his congreation then STEP DOWN for a season until he gets help and gets his house in order. By the way I am a pastor and “anointed”, but I only expect my people to follow me as I follow Christ. If I ever did what he just did I would do what I just said he should do. and yes I am praying for the both.

Admin- Hopefully He will do all that you stated. He has publically apologized but I am sure and rightly so,will not be able to see or talk to her for some time to personally do so.
I would not want to be in his shoes at all and could not live with myself had I did that. One comment on the news said he was grief stricken. He should be.

I survived an abusive marriage. The only reason that I am alive is by God’s Grace and the fact that he went to jail. My prayers go out to this family. But let me say that the physical and emotional and spiritual abuse was horrific in and of itself. Afterwards, the lies and cover-up and excuses made me question my own sanity. This is dangerous in a marriage.

Wow, This is a hot topic. I believe that it is so hot because of the disconnection that the “church” and the “world” have when confronting the issue of sin in the church, especially when it involves the leadership. I am a preacher and a woman, however, I have worked with the public on a personal level and have seen terrible things that “church people” or “people of God” do. The Bible specifically states the importance of abiding by the law of grace, however, also speaks of adhering to the law of the land. If you break the law you must pay the penalty. Let’s not avoid the devastating violence portrayed this week concerning a human being. It’s time for us to stop talking about violence imposed on animals and confront humanity’s demons, themselves.

I always appreciate it when someone is willing and bold enough to tell the truth. I’ve been in the pentecostal church over 30 years and I’ve witness a great deal of incidents that minsters etc have taken and swept under the rug for they are not ready to deal with the realities.
This act of crime is certainly not new for it happens all the time in the christian community and just like many they want to try and give reason as to why it might have happened when the fact remains that he brutally attacked his wife.
Wrong is wrong and no matter how many scriptures we try to use in this matter it doesn’t justify what has happened. God said in His word that he does not dwell in the mist of confusion, so how is it that people are trying to connect this with God.
It’s obvious that Weeks was under the influence of Satan and still is for Him to have even made the statements of reasons as to why he did it. This man by spiritual eyes is still considered to be a man of God, but the punishment will be just the same as a man that is not of God.
I’m a minister and God taught me years ago that’s there’s absolutely no one that’s above Him, the same rules apply to us all……

I think the whole incident is a disgrace. Just 5 years ago Bishop was paraded around TBN like he was some type of “god” and with headline reading “look women, I found me the perfect man”. He was over rated by his wife and it was just aweful the way he was made out to be some perfect icon. I do not excuse his behaviour but what bothers me is that Juanita continues to come before the people as if everything is so perfect in her life and you too can reach this destiny. It’s time for her to get back to her true love and stop this Hollywood antic. The world has grabbed a whole of her and has made a profit off of he gift God has given her. In the meantime, satan snuck in the marriage and got his share as well. We love Juanita and hope she returns to the place where she first recieved Christ in her spirit.
