The former Duke University men’s lacrosse coach who resigned earlier this year amid allegations that three of his players raped a stripper has sued the university. Mark Pressler now coaches at Division II Bryant University in Rhode Island.Mike Pressler’s lawsuit apparently stems from a financial settlement the school reached earlier this year with Pressler, although school officials did not give details Friday.
“Mr. Pressler, aided by his attorney, reached a fair and final financial agreement with Duke University in the spring of 2007,” Pamela Bernard, Duke’s vice president and general counsel, said in a statement. “We are disappointed that he is now trying to undo that agreement with an unfounded claim against Duke. source
The woman who brought the false charges should have been made to answer for what she did. Black women already are some of the most disrespected and hated women in the U.S. and possibly the world. We cannot afford a liar such as Crystal Mangum (pictured above) engaging in such national hoaxes. It reflects poorly on all black women (like it or not) and it gave racists more ammunition to call us nappy headed hos and to say that black women cry wolf. In other words, black women cannot be victims is what many believe.

This young woman conned so many and I noticed that many of the black groups that ran to her defense are either embarassed and shamed to condemn her or even address the issue now. Women like this disgust me because when one of us is actually raped, it then causes us to ‘think twice’ about reporting it to the police because of all of the scrutiny we are bound to face and the digging into our pasts.
From this article it seems that Crystal was sleeping around so much that she was in one of those Maury Povitch situations and didn’t know who the baby daddy was and rather than ruin her relationship, decided to cry rape. How sad that these people at Duke had to ensure months of being falsely accused. I’m glad they at least exposed her.

It’s a shame that charges were not filed against Crystal. She should have been forced to account for her lies; otherwise, what’s to stop her from doing something similar to this again in the future?
