Exalted Cyclops, Sen. Robert Byrd said of Michael Vick’s alleged dog fighting, “May God help those poor souls who would be so cruel. Barbaric! Hear me!” This quote from a man who was at one time the president (Exalted Cyclops) of his local Klan chapter in West Virginia.
Byrd was a member of the Klan during a time in history when the Klan meant something. During Byrd’s reign as head of the Klan, they were running loose, castrating black men and boys; raping black women, burning down houses, intimidating and leaving crosses on black lawns. They were hanging blacks at such a rapid and steady pace that blues singer, Billie Holiday was prompted to sing, Strange Fruit.
As Robert Byrd presents his slurred sermon directed at Michael Vick, I could not help but wonder if he ever felt that level of emotion as he watched men hanging from West Virginia trees? He referred to dog fighting as “sadistic”. Well, how sadistic is castration—an act that he and his boys undoubtedly sanctioned.
One is wondering, Who are the real animals…the creatures inside the ring or the creatures outside the ring?” Link
Depends on who you are talking about Sen. Byrd. Your Klan pals, in my opinion, are creatures and animals.
In an age in which the “n” word is being banned, I can’t help but wonder how many nigger jokes Sen. Byrd has told in his lifetime and how many disenfranchised blacks he intimidated by calling them that name—as he stood proudly in his klan gown. Well if you think he is through using the “n” word, think twice. His newest target is whites whom he recently referred to as “white niggers” during an interview. WhiteNigger
I dedicate this song to Sen. Byrd: StrangeFruit
