I have always wondered what people such as Eddie Long do with the multi-millions of dollars that their churches take in each year. If any of it is going into the community, I would be interested in seeing where specifically it’s going. And if you ask their regular, faithful tithing members whether or not they can go to the church for financial help if they hit upon hard times, most will have to tell you “no”. After giving all that money, they cannot depend on their wealthy churches to help them at all if they need a financial hand.

Well Bishop Eddie Long has finally done something tangible. AJC is reporting that he has donated a million dollars to his alma mater, North Carolina Central University. Good for him, although with his wealth, that’s a drop in the bucket and a nice tax write off. Wink, wink!

I couldn’t agree more. How many of these pastors that drive the Bently’s, Rolls, Masarati’s, and so on would stop and give a member a ride to service if they saw them at the bus stop. Good thing Eddie did for (his alma mater) Question, How many people that attend his church and have been faithful tithe and offering paying members and may now be in forclosure do you think he would step in and them out ’til they got on there feet. Just a question.

Has anyone ever heard of Pastor Chuck Singleton in Rialto CA(Loveland Church) He’s been asking for $$ to build a church for at least 8 years. Guess what? Still in the gym on bleachers, and he’s not driving a Toyota……..

  2. me93 says:

I’m on the fence with this one because it’s HIS alma mater in ANOTHER state, what about all the schools in the Atlanta area, where I’m sure some of his members attend.

I will give him this, a few yrs ago I heard about how during a service(I forget what the topic was) he asked all the people without a job to stand, then asked all the business owners to stand and announced he didn’t want anyone leaving that day without a job!!

  3. Pulpit Pimp Eddie Long, Blowing His Trumpet In The Streets….

Well I was reading this post over at Hicktown Press and was about to comment. But you know, sometimes my comments get long and I end up having to make them into full posts here. Speaking Truth also has a post up. And you can read the full news artic…

Oh yes ginny, I know Loveland Church and many members that go there very well! His wife Charlene (sp?) holds the “Gods Woman Conferences” every year with speakers such as Paula White, Darlene Bishop etc, out in Palm Springs, CA, and you are so right, big articles writtin in the newspapers about the church, the location and everything, yet no building of their own. I know members that have left due to this and disappointment with “the vision” constantly changing. They keep “increasing” while the “vision” seems to be “decreasing.”

Even my former church in Cali which has been raising funds for the “new sanctuary” for at least 10 years now still are in the old sanctuary (which there is nothing wrong with it) yes the Pastor has just purchased a new “mansion”, literally in an upscale gated community in Riverside, CA. while him and his wife both drive Bentleys! Their former home was a “mini” mansion with a yard the size of a football field and a backyard that looked like a tropical vacation getaway, which only the 2 of them lived in…go figure!

Anyway, I thank God that I’ve been delivered from the lies of these “pimps” and I pray that others that are still blind and following these “deceivers” will wake up and flee from this very evil.

IC, you are on point with your blog concerning Mr. Longshot!

  5. me93 – I was there when Eddie Long asked people to come up who needed jobs and asked employers to go up also. It occurred more than once. Eventually it ended, because basically the MLM (Multi-level marketing) folks were running up saying stuff like “I can hire everybody” and it was apparent something of that sort (helping someone find a job) required more coordination. (But it looked good and that’s what Fast Eddie is about, looking good.) Basically it was a nice idea, being led by the wrong guy, but whether it was God inspired is debatable, given it was an opportunity for MLM types to capitalize on. Later there was a job fair, which I assume was better organized, but Atlanta at that time was doing good. That happened many years back, when the economy was in much better shape. Back then, people who were employable were finding jobs without Eddie Long’s help, but perhaps somebody was having trouble and got a legit job out of it, we hope.

But it really was nothing more than an ON STAGE performance for Eddie Long. Personally, I thought having people who didn’t have jobs have to walk up in front of everyone was a bit humiliating. It could have been organized at a time when the lights and cameras were off, but we’re talking about Eddie Long here…

Ooooooo my “godly soldier” I know the place VERY WELL: 3349 Rubidoux Blvd. I spent several years there. Yes, I heard about the “mansion” while asking people to pledge for the new church. He and the Mrs. such and excellent teachers though. They have lost a lot of members. Just gets off track with the “bling” stuff. Small world it is. What state are you living in now if I may ask?

  7. me93 says:

Independent Conservative you crack me up!!! You really have a way with words. :)

  8. godlysoldier says:

OHHHHHH Ginny, SMALL WORLD IN DEED!
Yes, I spent 6 years there, learned alot about holiness and witnessing there, BUT when the Holy Ghost said it was time to leave, I had to be obedient to God and not the charisma of a “man” or “woman”

I couldn’t take the $100 lines and “new church building” offerings any longer and the only thing that kept being new was Pastor and 1st Lady’s car’s! Whew thank God I’m free!

Anyway, I’m living in Texas now, which I’m coming to find out has ALOT of wicked and false shepherds as well. I praying and allowing the Holy Spirit to lead my family to a “biblically sound” church were God alone is on the throne and NOT a “man!”

What years were you at 3349 Rubidoux Blvd?

  9. admin says:

GodlySoldier said, I couldn’t take the $100 lines

$100 lines??? Whew! I guess you had to get a second job to keep up there.

  10. godlysoldier says:

2nd job…LOL…Oh if you only knew the half of it Lynn!
Oh and let’s not forget the “double-tithes” month of March!
Oh my, I’m on the floor on my knees thanking God for deliverance right now!

  11. ginny says:

Godly, I was there from 2002 to early 2007. Yes I remember double tithe month. Never could keep up with that. Remember: “if you dont pay your tithes, your entire row will be cursed” That scare tactic never worked with me. Now, I heard it’s $500.00 (God said) lines. That Bently and Masarati and the new house (mansion) got to be paid for.

  12. admin says:

Double tithe month and $500 lines is one thing.

The threat of your “row” being “cursed” is criminal!

Show that to me in the scriptures.

And they wonder why they are called pimps?

  13. In the eyes of God, the whole thing is criminal, because they do it all in the Lord’s Name. And He’s going to repay them something awful, if they don’t repent! They’re on their way to the Matthew 7:22-23 treatment.

Double tithes in March. That gives that old saying “beware the ides of March” new meaning :D

Wow, I mean I’m surprised by that one, double tithes. But I guess I should not be, considering the topic of discussion here, Eddie Long. Because Fast Eddie, would seek to get the gross of one full paycheck out of us a year (that’s on top of so-called “tithes and offerings”), as his so-called “first fruits” scam! He probably used some money from the sale of books and tapes he’s made on the subject, to pay that million. Eddie has been changing the name of the “first fruits” scam as it continues to be exposed, but now he’s moved it from just a paycheck, to suggesting people give land, stocks, whatever, he’ll take it. Here’s how he ran that scam this year: And the Bible Teaches to Give via Credit Card Where? Pulpit Pimps Going for Money, Credit Card Deductions, Your Land, Stocks, You Name it, They’ll Take it! And here’s how he ran that same scam last year in 2007, Eddie Long and Paula White, Selling Supposed Favor With God. (All the pimps ran it about the same in 2007.)

  14. admin says:

It should be criminal for those multi millionaire bums to take advantage of their church members by literally getting their stocks, land…and credit card deductions. They should be advising their members to avoid using credit cards so much.

No conscience. It’s enough to make you sick.

  15. godlysoldier says:

IC, I never heard that march quote before, but it is so fitting here. Yes Ginny, I was pimped there from 1996-2003.
There was even a bank brought in at one time selling “bonds” for everyone to purchase towards the “new church” I can’t recall the exact year, I didn’t fall for that, but I wonder, what ever happened with those bonds, did they mature, did folks get their money returned with increase…hmmm, I may have to do some searching on that…

But yeah, these pimps are something else! They will stop at nothing to keep their “mini kingdoms” financed and flowing.
This is a day when we as people should be getting out of credit card and all other debt, NOT using them to give to the church, then have to pay interest, cause you know most folks ain’t paying them off in lump sums…heck, if you have to give on a credit card, most likely you don’t really have the expendible cash to give in the first place…Oh Lord when will the sheeple truly wake up?!

  16. Regarding credit cards, so-called Bishop Clarence McClendon once said during a TBN pimp-a-thon, TBN’s Promise: Send Money and See Riches:

A central element of the prosperity gospel is that no one is too poor or too indebted to donate. Bishop Clarence McClendon, a preacher whose show “Take It By Force” appears on TBN, told viewers in March that God had asked him to deliver a message to those in financial difficulty:

They should “sow a seed” by using their credit cards to make donations. In return, the Lord would see to it that the balances would be paid off within 30 days.

“Get Jesus on that credit card!” McClendon said.

Yes in the Lord’s Name, they claim God is telling people to give not only out of LACK, but give well beyond what they DON’T HAVE. I remember Eddie Long often telling us to just make the pledge on “faith” and give it however we could and have “faith” for God to give us in return. The concept of giving what someone does not even have is undocumented in scripture. The whole concept is unconscionable from a biblical standpoint!

And godlysoldier, your pimp “brought in a bank”. Fast Eddie went further in trying to start a bank of his own. He got as far as getting some other pastors to work with him to start the South Dekalb Church Federal Credit Union. He was pretty ticked he never could get a bank going like he wanted. If he had got the bank going in the manner he wanted, there’s no telling how insane things would have gone. He would have had a full FOR PROFIT entity going!

  17. ginny says:

Oh yeah, I forgot about the bond thing. I remember when the guy came out and talked to the church and all that. I almost participated but it was more important to keep a roof over MY head first. That’s what got Paul Morton in trouble many years ago. He got taken and had to pay people back. You do know that the church is still not built and they keep asking for $$$$ for new blue prints. Sell the Masarati and the Bently and he could pay for the blue prints without sucking the “LIFE” out of the members. He’s talks about using a decorator for the new while asking people to pledge $$ for the prayer tower and blue prints. And the devil is a lie ……… if I’d pledge a dime for anything other than my household.

  18. admin says:

This is horrible! It sounds like several of you were literally in the midst of a den of snakes. That is scary!

  19. godlysoldier says:

ROFL ginny!!! I wonder if I know you!
Yeah the $300k he plopped down for the Ferrari, that ended up getting totaled, could’ve paid for blue prints 2 times over!
I’ve seen at least 2 sets of blue prints while I was there…what happened to those, come to think of it, the Asst Pastor is an “architet” so shouldn’t they get a “break” on the blue print costs? Umm, Umm, Umm!

Now that I’m out of the forest, I can really see the rotten fruit on their “trees.” Isn’t it amazing how blind we were!
That’s why we just have to pray and have compassion for those that are still entangled in the dens of snakes and Lynn so eloquently put it. Yeah Lynn, it was and still is a “HOT UNHOLY MESS!”

And IC, the Pastor of that church used to hate on Eddie Long
saying “does anybody actually know what Eddie be talking about…watch this, watch this, watch this”
    LOL…pimp jealously at it’s best!

  20. admin says:

Actually I do have to agree that Eddie Long’s preaching style is next to impossible to follow.

He is so busy ego tripping that he never makes any points and I never hear him preaching Jesus. It’s just a bunch of mess thrown together as he prances around the stage showing off his muscles.

  21. godlysoldier says:

I agree Lynn! Any why does a minister of the gospel need to wear muscle tight shirts on stage (yes it’s a stage not a pulpit) then again, he’s no minister of thee GOSPEL either, but
    “another gospel”

  22. ginny says:

Godly, the Ferrari got totaled??? Let me make a call. I know several years ago 1st lady’s car was in an accident. Gong to make a call on the Ferrari. Elder B. should be doing the blue prints. I didnt know he “hated on Eddie” I thought he gloated on the type/size of church he had since he went to tour it. To much “jones’s (keeping up) for me at that address. When you step back you see things in a different light. My eyes are open to a lot of deceit and junk in ministry. That why I have no need to join a church.
Yes, I’m sure you saw me I worked in audio.
Eddie makes me ill with those muscle t shirts. Heh, sex sells even in church.

  23. godlysoldier says:

Oh yeah, sex sells, that’s so evident, even in the so-called gospel groups these day…(ok, I won’t go there, that’s a whole nother blog)
Agree, too much to keep up…you know it could have been her 2-door benz that was in the accident, too much for me to remember. The audio…hmmm…are you still in Cali?
We must somehow exchange emails or something. Maybe Momma Lynn can do that for us…

  24. admin says:

GodlySoldier said: We must somehow exchange emails or something. Maybe Momma Lynn can do that for us…

Ginny and GodlySoldier, just email me if you two want me to give your emails to each other. No problem.
