Dottie Rambo Has Passed and the Body of Christ Mourns!

By: Lynn

The Body of Christ has lost a GIANT, everyone and I for one am very upset. Many of you have probaby never heard of Dottie Rambo BUT you HAVE heard her anointed music!

Joyce “Dottie” Rambo, an influential gospel singer and songwriter, died early Sunday when her tour bus ran off the highway and struck an embankment. She was 74.

This is a big one, everyone and I KNOW this woman is with Jesus at this moment.

“I know Dottie is in heaven in the arms of God right now, but our earth angel will surely be missed,” Parton said in a statement. “Dottie was a dear friend, a fellow singer, songwriter and entertainer, and as of late my duet singing partner.”

Rambo was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame last year and the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame in 2006.

Rambo has had more than 2,500 published songs, including gospel classics such as “He Looked Beyond My Fault and Saw My Need” and the 1982 Gospel Music Association Song of the Year, “We Shall Behold Him.”

Classic #1 – We Shall Behold Him

Classic #2 - He Looked Beyond My Faults and Saw My Needs

Classic #3 – I  Go to the Rock

Classic #4 – I Call Him Lord

I am so upset this evening and it reminds us of the fragility of life. Wow! But through all this, God is God and He is King of Kings! Thank You, Lord Jesus. She is SAFE in your arms! Thanks for using her to bring forth such HEALING, anointed songs. This is painful but I just thank God.

I pray the peace upon her family that ONLY the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ brings. That woman’s songs have comforted me more times than I can recall but it was not her…it was the Holy Ghost working through her. Wow….I’ll just stop because I’m just hurt right now.

Hat tip to Eric who is so good at keeping HickTown abreast of spiritual/religious/Christian news.

Yes, I remember, awesome worshipper of God. She use to be on either TBN or PTL club back in the day.
Yes, I believe she is now in the presence of the Lord.
May God give peace and strength to her family in their time of natural loss.

    Hi,

Wow….I’m shocked! She sang at a church I spoke at back in the day….really nice lady!

What amazed me most about her was her ability to sing no matter where and no matter what the situation….on the day I preached (pimped more like it) she sang two songs that were heavily Scripturally based…my message wasn’t if you get my drift….she winked at me and said “God told me to balance it all out”…..

Again…Wow..I’m shocked and happy that she is now where her heart always was…with the Lord!

Lynn I want to believe she and Jan Crouch were sisters and she always was talking about her Jesus. A great woman of God.

I have heard her songs countless times, but wasn’t familiar with her as an individual. It sounds as if she was a phenominal woman. I hope the family is taking comfort in her relationship with the Lord.

God immensely blessed my life with her music.
Only in eternity will it be known how her music blessed the church and even those who are not in the church.
I’m glad I got to see them in concert, what a blessing, what an anointing.
In trials in my own life, and I do mean serious trials, her music was there to lift me and help me along.
She was a gift to the world.
Goodnight to a beautiful lady who gave us her life and her music.
Amazing how her music changed so many of us to be better and happier.
