Who on earth did the Harpers borrow the money from?
I reported a few days ago on the Harper family whose home is now scheduled to go on the auction block in spite of the fact that it was given to them by Extreme Makeover for FREE and even the taxes on it was paid. All they had to do was enjoy the home. Instead, they took out a crazy loan on the house for a construction business.
Because the Harpers are trying to deny that their home is in foreclosure, I decided to do my own investigation to get to the bottom of this. None of the news reports have changed. They claim that the Harpers’ home will be on the auction block on August 5th, 2008. I hope that it does not happen. However, all indications point to the fact that it will happen.
I found the website below which has them listed as being in foreclosure—and which lists CASH EXPRESS as their lending agent:

Isn’t Cash Express one of those street corner type establishments? If this is true, as the website appears to suggest—they did not even bother to go to a bank to borrow the money? They went to a street corner establishment?
Mr. and Mrs. Harper, would you contact me, please? I would like to interview you to get to the bottom of this. This is getting more bizarre by the moment!

Truly, neither one of them sought out any type of money advice from anyone.

They are trying to deny it? What do they think that their house is personal information? If that is the case then yet again they are uninformed consumers. Property information, including forclosure activity, is public information. I took this off of a public access website:

While their denying the foreclosure, I hope they are looking for another place to live.
Looking at the news clip where Mrs. Milton spoke briefly and judging from their previous history of buying a home without performing their due diligence to make sure the home was in fact inhabitable and free of any defects, I am honestly not surprised that Cash Express is their lender.
I don’t know if these folks simply did not look for help or were preyed upon by people who knew that they were ‘limited’ in their knowledge of the home buying and lending processes, but to me, even after going through the Extreme Makeover process, there were enough reputable people who came forward and offered them assistance.
I am sure that someone would have been able to properly and wisely give them some guidance. And if they are living in denial or lying about trying to keep the house out of foreclosure, reality will only unfortunately hit very soon and rudely awaken them.
If there is an award for the most stupid man in America, Mr. Milton Harper would win in a landslide. He basically took hundreds of beautiful gifts of time, sweat, tears and materials and told them to all shove it. It’s only a matter of time before he schedules interviews to cry about how he was taken and needs your help again. This just makes me sick. How can anyone actually be this stupid? How?
This story just gets worse and worse for me! When i think of how many people out here are seriously struggling from check to check and that many are not able to save their homes, these ignorant people decide to just give their home away! It just sickens me!
I know that they will in time come to feel true remorse for their actions/decisions! It’s just a shame that others will think twice before helping others because of stupid decisions!
