It’s very difficult to squeeze blood out of a turnip. And it’s impossible to take a pitiful, dried up prunish, racist state of bitter, ancient folks who are stuck in their tired ways, and transform them.

I have to give Obama props for getting even one vote outside of Philly and that’s not a joke. In fact, his getting within 10 points in that dried up, rusty state is nothing short of a miracle.

So……glad to see your back, Pennsylvania. Stay stuck in your backwards, gun toting ways, okay? Truth is, Obama does NOT need you. He has this election wrapped up.

  The Pennsylvania Dutch are cute and sweet, but I doubt that they vote. What a shame.

From time to time I have to put certain states on BLAST and anyone following this blog knows full well that I will put my own state (Maryland) on blast without blinking.

We have the most insane law here now. If a man and a woman are engaged in sex and the woman suddenly agrees during the act that she has changed her mind, the man can be charged with rape.

This is criminal in and of itself and sets more men up to be arrested for nothing.

    I’ve got to put the state of Florida on BLAST!  And I feel bad about it because quite a few of my HickTowners live in Florida and I stay on Florida’s back so much with all those rabid “ministers” that they have.

And check out the ignorant, mocking ebonics/slave language that is used throughout the song.  It actually scares me to think of how obsessed those vulgar dogs were and still are with blacks. Can you imagine sitting down writing a song and calling people “ole darkies”? Whew!

Well Florida is at least attempting to get rid of that racist garbage and replace it with an appropriate state song. It’s about time, huh?

When it comes to the state song, it looks like Florida lawmakers and Floridians will still be singing the same tune. Gov. Charlie Crist won’t be humming along, however.

After spending over a year trying to come up with a new song to replace the Stephen Foster classic “Swanee River,” which had lyrics some found racist, Florida politicians are expected to keep the song but update its lyrics _ if they do anything at all.

The song, also known as “Old Folks at Home,” would remain the state’s official song. As a compromise, a song chosen in a statewide contest _ “Florida - Where the Sawgrass Meets the Sky” _ will be added as the state’s anthem. Tallahassee attorney Pace Allen lobbied to keep Foster’s famous song, saying that throwing it out was “excessive.” “Let’s build on our history,” he said.

Crist, however, considers that history offensive to some and wanted a new song.

“I didn’t have it played at my inauguration for a reason,” Crist said this week, disappointed with the compromise reached by lawmakers to update the song and add an anthem. Crist said the agreement made the state look “confused.”

Lawmakers may not take up the compromise, however. The House might not even get to its bill (HB 825) and Sen. Jim King, a Jacksonville Republican who worked out the compromise in the Senate, said some lawmakers are worried they would look frivolous for debating on the state song while more pressing problems like budget cuts loom.

Keeping the song as it has been for 73 years does present a problem. As originally written, the song mentions of “de old plantation” and “de banjo strumming” in a dialect that mocks blacks in the Old South. When the song is sung at state functions, however, lines like “Oh, darkeys, how my heart grows weary” are changed to “Oh, brothers, how my heart grows weary.”

Some wording was altered by the education department in the mid-1970’s to eliminate offensive lyrics when sung in public schools, but the words have never been officially changed.

“What most people remember is the melody,” said State Sen. Steve Oelrich, whose district includes parts of the Suwanee River. “I’m perfectly willing to change whatever language might be offensive.”

Some people just don’t “get it”. How can the lyrics be changed when in fact the entire song needs to be gotten rid of? Can you imagine a racist song that attacks and insults Jews being allowed to stand with a few changed lyrics? Florida had better rid themselves of that mess!

I’m going to put the entire state of Michigan on BLAST due to a little problem in Detroit that they can’t seem to settle:

According to the most recent statistics, Detroit police arrested a suspect in one of every three homicide cases in 2005, a stark decline from previous years and far below other major U.S. cities and the nation’s average.

Also well below the average is Detroit’s 1-in-3 ratio for clearing homicides — that is, in charging or identifying the killer.

Experts cite the apparent end of police dragnets, the illegal practice of rounding up large groups of potential witnesses and suspects for questioning, for much of the drop in arrests.

But the experts also blame a homicide section decimated by budget cuts, more drug-related slayings in which witnesses are less likely to talk and slipshod handling of evidence and investigative files in several high-profile cases.

The result, said defense lawyer Richard Cunningham — a former judge and homicide prosecutor — is detectives rushing their investigations to keep from being buried in case files, as well as mounting distrust of police in the community.

“In contrast to Detroit, police in other U.S. cities with populations more than 250,000 made arrests in about half of homicides in 2005. Nationally, the arrest rate in homicide cases was about two arrests for every three cases — double Detroit’s rate. Detroit Police Chief Ella Bully-Cummings would not discuss arrest rates, despite repeated requests from the Free Press to do so.

Hopefully you will read the remainder of this article. It’s pitiful. I chuckled when I read the excuses that Detroit police gave for their incompetence in not being able to catch killers or close cases. One of the excuses they give is that they no longer are able to “round up” groups of citizens to basically harrass and intimidate. I read that and my jaw dropped.

I guarantee you that if whites were killing each other in Detroit at the rate that blacks in Detroit are offing each other, you would see some cases being solved. Bottom line is that if those bums are unable to close some of those criminal cases, they need to be fired. Simple as that. Time to clean house.

Ya’ll know that although I was born and raised in Maryland, I have no problems at all putting the state of Maryland on BLAST just as quick as I’ll blast any other state. In fact, I have blasted Maryland in the past due to their lenient stance on child molesters and due to the incompetent judges that often sit on benches here.

Well, looks like I will have to put Maryland on blast again because this state obviously views itself as a “comedian state” but no one’s laughing. They are either insane or trying to be funny but Maryland residents are NOT tickled.

House and Senate lawmakers worked early into the morning today to pass $1.3 billion in tax increases and ask voters to legalize up to 15,000 slot machines in five locations across the state.

Lawmakers approved increasing the sales tax 20 percent and expanding it to computer services, increasing the corporate income tax to 8.25 percent and the personal income tax on high-wage earners to 5.5 percent.

Lawmakers also approved a constitutional amendment that would place up to 15,000 slot machines at locations in Allegany, Anne Arundel, Cecil and Worcester counties and Baltimore. Residents will vote on the slots plan in November 2008.

So, they are trying slip gambling in on us in spite of the fact that we have TOLD them in the past that we don’t want that mess here. Gambling DESTROYS families as the gamblers become addicted and BROKE trying to gamble. Don’t we have enough broken up families in Maryland? Haven’t they noticed that black men in Maryland are blowing each other’s brains out at the rate of one per day?

And they are trying to raise our sales tax to 20%? Why not raise it to 90%? As I said, Maryland has jokes. LOL!!!!!!!!

   I’ve put the state of Georgia on BLAST several times in the past and apparently they just LOVE the attention that HickTown gives them cause those country bumpkins STAY on my radar! [NO offense to my HickTowners who live in Georgia. I have quite a few of you who visit here regularly so this is not at you but at your state]

Georgia may not be sick of me but I’m about sick of Georgia. They have been crying and praying recently about the fact that it won’t rain there. Maybe a little suffering is what it will take to wake them up. They have some of the most evil “ministers” in the nation. Their criminal justice system is screwed up. Now look at this mess!

The warden of the Clayton County Correctional Institution wants permission to spend money for a “management tool” — satellite TV to keep his 226 inmates occupied watching football.

Warden Frank Taylor is asking the Clayton County Commission to let him sign up for direct-broadcast satellite service for less than $100 a month. It would be funded with money collected at the prison’s commissary and pay phones, which last year amounted to $41,000.

“The reason is ‘Monday Night Football’ is now on cable,” he said. “Although it might seem funny, when you have 90 percent of inmates watching something, it is a management tool for the institution.”

I’ve had about enough of Georgia. I’m sick and tired of their antics. The only thing criminals need is hard labor and a little suffering to remind them that they are in JAIL, as opposed to a FREE country club where they get to lay around enjoying luxury at the expense of the taxpayers!  Yeah, yeah, yeah.  I know they claim they will collect the money by other means, but trust me. The taxpayers will end up footing that bill once their money runs out.

I’ve got to put the State of Georgia on BLAST. I’ve done that before but apparently Georgia likes the attention that Hicktown gives it so it just continues to do dumb, backwards things.

Lisa Woods told a TV news station that one of her co-workers did not like black people and suggested that races should not integrate. She also said the office’s restroom was placed “out of order” for months — even though she believes it worked fine.

The reason for the “out of order” sign, Woods believes, is to prevent African-Americans from using the toilet.

According to a former security guard at the building, truck drivers frequently stop at the scaling station and whenever a white driver went in, he used the restroom. Black truck drivers, the guard said, could not. Rather they had to go into the woods.

Was the toilet really broken? A reporter from First Coast News and a photographer went to the building and flushed it. The toilet, they claim, worked fine. Just hours after the TV station’s visit, Georgia-Pacific fired Woods.

Woods has since brought a wrongful termination lawsuit against the company on the basis of racial and sexual discrimination. Georgia-Pacific claims Woods was justly terminated.

Looks like more schools are emulating the racism of Jena, Louisiana!

For years, a clique of high school students in this prosperous and overwhelmingly white borough have worn clothes adorned with Confederate flags and parked their pickups in a section of the school parking lot known as “redneck row.”

The display, some parents of minority students say, was just one symptom of festering racism that school officials ignored until animosities boiled over last week.

That’s when three white 16-year-old students allegedly yelled racial slurs and threw paper wads at minority students outside the 1,600-student Warwick High School.

School officials vowed to discipline the three students, tighten security and ban Confederate flags on school property. On Wednesday, police charged the three with disorderly conduct.

The “disturbing and repulsive” Oct. 3 confrontation was a “wake-up call” for Warwick High School, said Superintendent John George. “Perhaps we were lulled into a false sense that our school district was immune to racism and bigotry,” he said. Source

What I find interesting is how whenever blacks are the victims, it takes almost an Act of Congress to get any attention or help. Check this out:

At a community meeting Monday, some parents said their earlier complaints about Confederate flag displays and racial slurs fell on deaf ears. Others complained that the district took too long to punish the perpetrators.

The superintendent said the incident was revealed only after a teacher overheard other students discussing it and alerted administrators. Although school officials were previously aware of “redneck row,” they couldn’t discipline students merely for displaying a Confederate flag, a symbol that has been protected under the First Amendment, he said.

“If there were signs of unrest, they were not evident to us at that point,” George said. Source

Let’s wait and see what excuses people such as Jason Whitlock finds for this one. Let’s see if  Jesse Lee Peterson  has a problem with this or should blacks just grin and bear it? Are we too sensitive on this too when our youth cannot attend school in peace?

Update on Jena, Louisiana

I’m listening to the Al Sharpton show. He indicated that no bond nor bail has been set for Mychal Bell.

This has been confirmed by national news reports:

Bail was denied Friday for a black teenager whose arrest in the beating of a white classmate led to this week’s huge civil rights demonstration in the central Louisiana town of Jena.

The bond hearing for Mychal Bell, one of the group known as the “Jena Six,” was held this afternoon in a juvenile court in Jena.

Lawyers would not comment because juvenile court proceedings are secret. But John Jenkins, the father of one of Bell’s co-defendants, said Bell’s bail request was denied. source

A request had been made to take the judge off the case but that request also was denied. It’s obvious that there is a tremendous amount of anger regarding the fact that tens of thousands descended upon Jena. How dare the uppity “colored” folks tell the whites what to do!

Sharpton said that his next step is Washington, DC to get the Congress involved.

    For the second time in less than a month, I have to put the state of Maryland on BLAST. Maryland has truly blundered in releasing dangerous child rapists onto the streets to continue attacking innocent children. I recently blogged about Mahamu Kanneh (pictured above), an alleged pedophile whose case was dropped because he—a man who has attended college in this country (instruction in ENGLISH), said that he needed an interpreter. The court system claimed they could not find an appropriate interpreter in a timely manner so they let him loose onto the streets.  More here

Well, looks like Maryland has done it again!

A man who was arrested in connection with the sexual assault of a 9-year-old girl was accidentally released from the hospital he was beind [sic] held at Friday night.

John Henry Palmont Jr. was erroneously released Friday by the Prince George’s Department of Corrections. Palmont was being held at Prince George’s Hospital receiving treatment for injuries sustained during his arrest yesterday. Source

I’m holding in my hand case information on John Henry Palmont (pictured below) from the public records of Maryland.

 This guy’s criminal record includes theft, handgun possession, as well as reckless endangerment. Clearly this is not the type of person who should be loose on the streets of Maryland. However, Mr. Palmont has decided that jail is not his style. He does not want to spend any time in jail. Apparently he believes that it’s fine to [allegedly] rape children and commit other crimes but that he should not have to man-up and do any time whatsoever for his criminal actions. Unbelievable!

Police said that the victim told them the suspect knocked on her door at about 1:30 p.m. and asked to use the telephone. He then showed a handgun and sexually assaulted the girl, who was home alone…Link
