Jeffrey Locker update
Lynn | January 30, 2010 | 11:27 am | Snippets | No comments

I reported about a motivational speaker named Jeffrey Locker who ended up on the wrong side of town, and was murdered.

Reports now seem to indicate that he actually paid someone to kill him so that his family could collect the insurance money from his death.

Sick, sick, sick!

Lil Wayne has earned more street credibility

Very sad that young people look to the likes of a Lil’ Wayne for guidance. What a pitiful role model.

Wayne will be going to jail for weapons charges. Where does this mess end? T.I. and now Lil’ Wayne.

If you plan to be the president of the US…

Hicktowner checks in regarding Georgia floods
Lynn | September 23, 2009 | 9:50 pm | General, Snippets | 2 Comments

Hicktowner, Ginny sent the following report:

Hi Lynn,

I’m fine, home is fine other than minor flooding due to a broken basement sump pump which is an inexpensive replacement, and being very tired from mopping and trying to dry out and moving boxes.

Only 1 other neighbor had flooding and theirs was worse than mine. I’ve never in all my years, seen the amount of rain as I saw this past weekend. We had 20.4″ on Sunday alone.

As far my surrounding neighborhood (2-5 miles) some bridges are still closed as they must inspected. One small bridge about 2 miles from me which covers a creek caused major damage in a neighborhood that is near by.

There is so much damage, road and bridge closures (80 down from 140) and huge property damage just in my county alone. The homes can be replaced and things can be purchased again be sadly the lives, 9
are gone forever and all to soon. Governor Sonny Purdue has declared 17 counties a disaster and has asked for federal disaster funds.

We will uphold you and others in the flood zone up in prayer, Ginny!

Reggie Bush breaks up with Kim Kardashian, finally!

BushKardashianI have to be honest with you. When it comes to matters of the heart, it’s difficult to get involved. But come on, ya’ll. What self respecting man would date the likes of a Kim Kardashian? She dated the gross D-listed “Ray J” of all people and ended up with her sex life splashed all over the internet.

Now what man in his right state of mind would even look at this chick and take her seriously?

What took them so long to break up is beyond me, quite frankly. Is Reggie Bush all there?

“Nobody cheated. This was just a case of conflicting schedules and their lives going in different directions,” the source told Access.

In June, Kim hit her blog to dispel rumors the two were set to walk down the aisle.

“I am not engaged!!!” she wrote at the time. “I don’t know where all this comes from!… Don’t worry guys, you will be the first to know if and when I get engaged!!… Well after I tell my family, of course!”

Hopefully he will now go out and find something decent:

Walter Currie, Jr. Set on Fire, Charged
Lynn | July 21, 2009 | 7:48 pm | Snippets, Underbellies of Society | 4 Comments

Something is wrong when a teenager can be set on fire by other teens, then be charged while in recovery. Police claimed that he had hit a student.

Any child sick and demented enough to set another child on fire is indeed a sociopath who deserves to never see the light of day again.

Illinois Upholds Parent Notification for Abortions
Lynn | July 15, 2009 | 6:49 pm | General, Snippets | 1 Comment

It is almost beyond belief that a child under 18 can have an abortion in this country without notification of parent(s). Unbelievable.

An abortion is surgery. What right does a doctor have to work on someone’s child without a parent’s signature? And who is liable if the child dies on the table or gets maimed in some way?

Two thumbs up to Illinois for making it a requirement that parents be notified prior to a child receiving an abortion. I guess common sense in several other states is not so common:

An Illinois law requiring doctors to give a parent or adult family member at least 48 hours’ advance notice of when a girl under age 18 will abort a pregnancy is constitutional, a U.S. Appeals Court ruled.
A three-judge panel of the Chicago-based court today said that state Supreme Court rules setting up judicial procedures for an expedited bypass hearing satisfy minors’ constitutional rights to the procedure.
“The law provides an exception to notice for such minors, if they establish that they are mature enough to make the decision on their own or that notice is not in their best interests,” U.S. Circuit Judge Richard Cudahy wrote for the court.

Pirates Taken Down

Two thumbs up to the Obama administration for okaying the situation regarding the pirots. Another two thumbs up to our U.S. Navy snipers who shot three of those pirates.

U.S. Navy snipers fatally shot three pirates holding an American cargo-ship captain hostage after seeing that one of the pirates “had an AK-47 leveled at the captain’s back,” a military official said Sunday.

Capt. Richard Phillips, right, stands with U.S. Navy Cmdr. Frank Castellano after Phillips’ rescue Sunday.

The captain, who’d been held in a lifeboat in the Indian Ocean since Wednesday, was rescued uninjured, Navy Vice Adm. Bill Gortney told reporters.
