Chicago’s Gov. Blagojevich Impeached

Hicktowners, please don’t laugh when I say this. But would you believe me if I told you I’m actually starting to feel sorry for Hicktown’s favorite governor—Blagojevich? I truly am. Poor thang!

In a historic vote, the Illinois House has impeached Gov. Rod Blagojevich, directing the Senate to put the state’s 40th chief executive on trial with the goal of removing him from office.

The vote by the House was 114-1 and marks the first time in the state’s 190-year history that a governor has been impeached, despite Illinois’ longstanding reputation for political corruption.

Rep. Milt Patterson (D-Chicago) was the lone vote against impeaching the governor. Patterson, from Chicago’s Southwest Side, said after the roll call that he didn’t feel it was his job to vote to impeach the governor. He declined comment on whether he approved of the job Blagojevich is doing.

A Blagojevich spokesman said the governor will not resign.  SOURCE

Rev. John P. Kee Will Pay Rev. Timothy Wright’s Church Mortgage While Rev. Wright Continues to Recover

EURweb reports this awesome news that gospel artist & Pastor of the New Life Fellowship Center, Rev. John P. Kee, has declared he will pay the mortgage on Rev. Wright’s Grace Tabernacle Christian Center Church of Brooklyn, NY, until Rev. Wright returns.

Rev. Kee stated that Rev. Wright is a great “friend, singer and preacher” and added that he had “much to do with our success.”    Rev. Kee also stated that paying the church’s mortgage during this challenging time would “relieve financial stress on the family and the church during the healing of their father and pastor, Rev. Timothy Wright.”

What a remarkable example of brotherly love and helping one’s fellow man in time of need.   SOURCE

Rev. Michael Nazir-Ali of England Stands Strong on The Word of God
Lynn | June 24, 2008 | 6:17 pm | Positive Ministries | 1 Comment

Fewer and fewer churches are showing forth any power as they attempt to be politically correct. You know there is a problem with a pastor condones abortion or agrees to perform a same sex marriage ceremony. The church is weakening steadily under the power of the devil.

There are a few strong pastors and churches around. Check out this minister over in England:

The Rt Rev Michael Nazir-Ali, the Bishop of Rochester, claimed the declining importance of the church was creating a “double jeopardy” situation where faith was being challenged at a time when society would most benefit.

He said believers needed to “recover their nerve” and spread the Gospel again.

The outspoken bishop, who earlier this week told those who tolerate homosexuality in the clergy to repent, also said he was “frustrated” that decisions which had been made in the church had not been stuck to.

Dr Nazir-Ali was greeted with a standing ovation as he gave a speech to a breakaway summit in Jerusalem of more than 1,000 traditionalists from across the Anglican Communion who oppose gay priests and the blessing of same-sex unions.

He did not say that divisions over sexuality would lead to a schism in Anglicanism, and referred to unity being a “very precious thing”.

Instead he called on those in the church to concentrate on mission – trying to convert those of other faiths and with no faith to Christianity.

Dr Nazir-Ali, who earlier this year claimed the decline of Christianity had led to a collapse of Britishness, said: “The greatest challenge is that of militant secularization, which is creating a double jeopardy for western cultures.

“It is losing its Christian discourse at the very time when it needs it most.

“Let us pray that we are able to recover our Christian nerve in the west and make sure the Gospel is not lost, and that all that is valuable in western culture – much of which comes from its Judeo-Christian background – will survive as a way to enhance cultures in the west and renew them once again.”

He said he could not apologise for wanting to explain Christianity to Muslims and to great laughter he added: “That’s not the only thing I want to do to them.”

The Pakistan-born bishop repeated his claim that the church began its decline in influence when parents stopped passing the faith on to their children.

“Don’t blame anyone else,” he said.

Dr Nazir-Ali said when changes took place in society they must be assessed against the Bible to see whether they should be accepted, and should not just be waved through.

He said those who were attending Gafcon, many of whom like him are boycotting the once-a-decade Lambeth Conference gathering of bishops because of their opposition to liberals over homosexuality, were at the forefront of a revival of Anglicanism.

“You are the miraculous beginning of a movement for the renewal of the church.”

The bishop suggested that the current structure of Anglicanism was not good enough to deal with its divisions over sexuality, which have seen American liberals consecrate an openly gay bishop in defiance of church rules.

“In the crisis that is facing us we have found this [structure] to be not enough. In the end it was based on English good manners and in our world English good manners are simply not enough.”

He went on: “I believe there are some things that do need attention.

“We need to have councils that can make decisions that stick. In the last few years I have been frustrated by decision after decision after decision that has not stuck.

“We cannot have this in the future for a healthy church.”

Bill Clinton Claims There is a “Cover Up” Regarding Wife’s FAILED Bid for Office
Lynn | May 26, 2008 | 1:13 pm | Positive Ministries | Comments closed

You all are not going to believe this one!  Bill Clinton claims that …oh, read it for yourself.  LOL!

Former President Bill Clinton said that Democrats were more likely to lose in November if his wife Hillary Clinton is not the party’s presidential nominee, and suggested some people were trying to cover this up and push and pressure and bully superdelegates to make up their minds prematurely.

“I can’t believe it. It is just frantic the way they are trying to push and pressure and bully all these superdelegates to come out, he said at a South Dakota campaign stop Sunday, in remarks first reported by ABC News. ‘Oh, this is so terrible: The people they want her. Oh, this is so terrible: She is winning the general election, and he is not. Oh my goodness, we have to cover this up.’”

Pastor Chris Smith’s POSITIVE Church Ministry!
Lynn | February 16, 2008 | 12:19 am | Positive Ministries | 1 Comment

I’ve been PROMISING my HickTowners that I was going to highlight some POSITIVE ministries to offset some of those demonic ministries that receive so much press.

I was DETERMINED that my first few ministries would be those of fellow HickTowners since we have several outstanding HickTown residents who pastor or minister in churches.

You all know Pastor Chris. He has been with HickTown since the beginning but does not sign nearly as often as I wish he would. He mostly reads which I understand because he is busy pastoring a church and doing God’s work.

Pastor Chris is young, handsome, and SOLD OUT for Jesus Christ of Nazareth! And ladies, he has an absolutely GORGEOUS wife named Christal! So we know the brother has great taste not only in his spiritual life but in his personal life.

Check out the “About Us” section of his web page:

About Us

Simply Amazing Ministries is a family oriented ministry focused on seeing the people of God delivered and set free. Teaching the Word of God with simplicity and understanding is the goal of Pastor Kevin and First Lady Christal Smith. His divine assignment is to save the lost, preach deliverance to those who are bound and to empower God’s people to walk in power and authority. Pastor Smith’s desire is to build the Kingdom of God with laborers sold out for Christ. It is our desire to minister to the whole man. To equip, train, and empower the body of Christ to be successful and to prosper in every area of their lives.

Early Years

Pastor Kevin Christopher Smith was born in Florence, Alabama, on May 18, 1972, the youngest of four children. His proud parents are Joe Louis Smith, Sr., and Alice Marie Smith. Pastor Smith accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at the young age of seventeen. Three years later he accepted his calling to Preach the Gospel. He served faithfully under the leadership of his Pastor and mentor Elder Bobby R. Sledge for nineteen years. He was ordained an Elder under Pastor Sledge’s tutu ledge. In March 1995 Elder Kevin Smith met the love of his life, First Lady Christal Smith, and they married on June 28, 1996. They are the proud parents of three beautiful little girls; Christina, Lorena, and Caitlin.

On May 18, 1992 the Lord spoke to Elder Smith and gave him the name Simply Amazing Ministries. God revealed to him that he would Pastor one day and the purpose of the ministry would be to set at liberty those that are bound and the name was just a foreshadow, because the things that God would ultimately do through the ministry would be “simply amazing.”

Years later that vision would begin to unfold, and after much fasting and praying, the Lord spoke to Elder Smith and told him to start a Bible Study in Athens, Alabama. He stepped out in faith with his wife Christal, their three daughters and just a handful more and he started conducting Bible Study at the Woodmen of the World Insurance building. The first Bible Study was held on September 1, 2004 and shortly after the Lord spoke to Pastor Smith and told him to begin a Sunday service. Simply Amazing Ministries held their official service on February 5, 2006. God confirmed his word with signs following and God opened the doors for Simply Amazing ministries to move to their own location. On March 25, 2007 Simply Amazing Ministries held their first service at their new location. People have been healed, delivered and set free through this ministry and the best is yet to come for Simply Amazing Ministries.

Mission

Simply Amazing Ministries primary focus is to meet the needs of the community both spiritually and naturally. Our desire at Simply Amazing Ministries is to see God’s people walking in the authority that God has given us to live victoriously.

Jackie McCullough

So many women preachers have come, blown up and made a ton of money. And most of them who blew up over the past 7 years have proven to be fake or shaky. Ahhhhhh, but Jackie McCullough has endured the test of time.

Dear HickTowners and Consistent Lurkers:

As my husband and I were driving to church this morning, the Holy Spirit placed it upon my heart that there must be balance in HickTown as far as ministries are concerned.

I have several categories pertaining to “false shepherds”, “shepherds astray”, etc. which serve to expose pulpit pimps and perverts.

What I don’t have is a category dedicated to discussing ministries and pastors who are doing good things in our communites. They DO exist and the Lord wants me to shine some light on them.

Up to this point, I’ve only been highlighting the negative ministers, ministries and churches and with that in mind, it is possible that unsaved visitors might conclude that ALL ministers and ministries and churches are a joke.

I will continue exposing the pulpit pimps, but I also will spend time talking about the BRIGHT side of ministry and the POSITIVE pastors who DO exist.

I need your help. If you run across any articles about positive churches, ministries, ministers or pastors who are doing GOOD WORK in the community, send it to me, please!

I thank the Holy Spirit for convicting me in this area.

Lynn
