Byron Hout learns hard lesson on keeping hands to self

I might be one of only a handful of people in the U.S. who sees absolutely NOTHING wrong with the fact that football player LeGarrette Blount (Ducks team) punched opposing player, Byron Hout (Broncos team) in the face.

Hout had no business putting his hands on a man who clearly was already feeling bad about losing the game.  Hout had no business taunting Blount.

So….Blout practically knocked Hout’s block off.

Moral of the story:  If you don’t want to be punched out, don’t put your hands on and taunt an already upset person who weighs over 200 pounds and stands over 6′ tall and whose body is in top physical form.

It truly is that simple.

You aren’t the only one Lynn! I haven’t seen the full footage, but what I have seen is that Hout said something to Blount to get punched out like he did. The media is again putting a young black man on full blast. He was suspended for the rest of the year. I wish he could have maintained his composure, like wait till after school (lol). I had to say that, because I remember back in the day, we would wait until after school, when we were away from the school prperty and thew we would duke it out. Ahhhh… the memories, but I digress. Whatever was said or done, Blount had his reasons and felt it was all worth losing his playing time for.

I had a nice chat with my 13-year old son about this story today at lunch and I explained to him that character and talent must go hand in hand! It’s amazing how one little decision in seconds can have long lasting results–sometimes negative results!

Lynn, I agree with you that something should have been done with the “taunter”, too. He was just as shabby in his behavior as the “puncher”!

Apparently, his pending opportunity to go to the NFL wasn’t uppermost in his mind, and allowed a little taunting from the winning team cause him to loose his career…I don’t believe it was just the taunter, he also was going after the fans, and believe if he would have fought the guy head on, it would have been a different outcome, he came at him from the side/back and the guy didn’t know what hit him…He was out of control, I believe a lot of these athletes are on steroids or something ( his teammates were trying to calm him) because seems like some of them can’t control their emotions. But the taunter probably didn’t have the same thing at stake as Byron…He is still young…I asked my husband since he can’t play this year, extend his year in school and play next year and receive another opportunity…By this time, he will really be prepared for the NFL.
