Bob Johnson Issues Fake Apology to Obama
January 17, 2008Although Bob Johnson has offered a fake apology to Obama for insulting him for no apparent reason, the question is, why did he believe it was necessary to insult the man in the first place? Isn’t it possible to be in favor of Hillary Clinton without being against Obama?
Keep in mind that this is the same Bob Johnson who made his money off the backs of black folks through that abominable BET station that he founded. And to show you his character, he fired Tavis Smiley, the only postive influence that he had on the entire network. This man has some serious issues. I understand that in the past he got into big trouble for hazing in his fraternity. Heaven only knows what all this man has been involved in but my guess is that most of it is negative:
The founder and former CEO of Black Entertainment Television apologized Thursday to Sen. Barack Obama for what appeared to be veiled comments this week regarding the Democratic presidential hopeful’s acknowledged drug use as a teenager.
Sen. Hillary Clinton and BET founder Bob Johnson visit a Columbia, South Carolina, church Sunday.
Bob Johnson, a high-profile supporter of Sen. Hillary Clinton, said he sent Obama a letter and also was reaching out by phone.
Obama spokesman Bill Burton responded Thursday afternoon, saying, “Obama accepts the apology. We’re going to leave it at that.”

I think he probably only aploogized because someone told him to. We know it’s not sincere and it took to long anyway. Strange how he had no problem “saying” his comments publicly but for the apology he had to send a letter or make a phone call! Where was the public apology!
Whatever, Bob!

Oops Lynn, don’t forget about Ed Gordon he was on staff also.
If anyone was on the fence about Hillary, I believe her alliance with Bob Johnson should be the deal maker.
Bob Johnson to black women, is what Frank Lucas is to drug addicts.
Ruthless and destructive…and it will take years to recover from the damage they both have inflicted.

Amen to Chelle and Regina! I have been so upset that Bob Johnson, Andrew Young, and other “prominent” blacks have taken the stance that they have against Obama. I’m all for political freedoms and I don’t slight anyone their opinion—but the way that so many have been publicly lambasting Obama is just callous!
Personally, I believe there is some jealously involved. The “old guard” black civil rights activists and politicians couldn’t bring true, lasting change to America (I don’t discount the things that they did contribute to); so they have to make themselves feel better by joining the pundits who discuss Obama’s past in an attempt to take the focus off of what he’s trying to do.
Andrew Young took the cake by insinuating that Bill Clinton is BLACKER than Obama! How much self-hatred could you possibly have?!?

I think we should look at WHO these comments were coming from rather than whom they are about. Bob Johnson has made millions by displaying all manner of negative images of African-Americans on TV and feels nothing wrong in doing so, because he is an ‘entrepreneur.’ So really, he is not someone I look to as a newsworthy source or political expert of any kind.
I think that all the negativity between Omaba and Hillary is getting way out of hand. Whether you support Obama or Hillary, the objective is that only one person can win the primary and if Democratic voters are busy engulfed in “Well I won’t support this one if my candidate loses,” Republicans only have the upper hand to swoop down and take full advantage of the Democrats divisiveness.
