Update # 21
For the past few weeks I’ve been engaged in an all-call to Bishop Weeks. EARTH TO WEEKS! has been my cry.
Well, it looks like somebody reached him or he came to his senses on his own. He had been contesting the divorce but it was announced on Thursday morning that he will accept the inevitable.
Did you all know that Juanita Bynum had filed for a divorce from him a few years ago in 2005 but dropped the filing? Oh, the skeletons are continuing to emerge. She told Tom Joyner that this was not the first time she had filed for a divorce against the “bishop”.
This marriage has been a shell probably since the beginning. Remember my article…What’s crooked cannot be made straight. That scripture is sooooo true!
Attorneys for a minister accused in an assault on his estranged televangelist wife said he will speak out Friday.
The lawyers said Thomas W. Weeks III had held out hope that he and Juanita Bynum could reconcile even after she filed a petition for divorce on Monday, but now he had decided not to stand in the way.
Instead, they say the case would be submitted as an uncontested divorce and could be resolved within 31 days from the date the case started under Georgia law. source
I know that the bible says that God hates divorce. But you know what else God hates? God hates it when men punch, push, shove, knock down, stomp, and kick women. It’s called abuse and abuse is deadly. Juanita Bynum could have died out there. I don’t blame her. A man would have ONE time to put his hands or his feet on me in a negative way and brotherman would be history. I don’t play that.
Now that Weeks has faced the reality that his gravy train is drying up, perhaps he will also deal with his abuse issues and the charges against him:
Weeks is facing charges of aggravated assault and making terroristic threats related to an August 21 incident where Bynum claims he choked, pushed and stomped her in a hotel parking lot after the couple failed to reconcile. source
PRESS HERE to hear Minister Bynum’s interview with Tom Joyner. Several interviews are there so scroll down. You also might want to listen to the interview between Joyner and Jawn Murray where Murray claims that Bynum was recently served in Dallas because she owes a promoter $115,000.

Lynn let me butter you up by saying I really like your blog.( really do. However I think he should not have contested for entirely different reasons than you.
Rven if he had a true Damascus or I285 experience tomorrow and became all that “God called him to be” he woudl be wasting his time with her.
Hitting women has no place in society, but when this happens it clouds a lot of facts and throws a lot of pity the victims way. There is nothing wrong with this, however it prevents the victim from working on kinks and deficiencies in their own character.
So brother I say repent, get help take your walking papers get you a regular job and keep on running.
Feel free to disagree with me. My ego is not so fragile that I need to be buttered up for someone to voice a different view.
Whatever the reason for him dropping his contesting of the divorce, fine with me as long as he drops it. Remember that she filed against him in 2005 but changed her mind.
What’s crooked cannot be made straight. This marriage is crooked. Why prolong the agony?
Exactly my friend dont you see what I said REdman:So brother I say repent, get help take your walking papers get you a regular job and keep on running.
BTW Its my day off and I have time to kill, I am listening to her interview with Tom Joyner. I think she needs to be counseled by “Salt” for real.
She says 2 things that do not make sense. Well more.
Why am I getting on her case, because she is going to ruin a lot of people marriages. Someone is going to have a simple argument and will flee because Prophetess Bynum says it will “escalate”. She is running off her mouth on every media and yet she does not have time to listen to “his slander”
Also she says its not her concern why men hit women. If that is not the concern of everyone what else is. Isn’t that what we need to find out, to determine why some men become raging beasts? So these guys can get the help they need(many will deny they have a problem)
Lynn mark my words, the reason she is going into this new social arena is because after everything comes out she will have zero credibility to climb up on any ones pulpit.
If one says they are called to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ thats is what they should do and not jump up on anyones political bandwagon.
I can still hear my old Sunday school teacher saying. Be kindly affectionate one to another with brotherly love, in honor preferring one another(Rom 12;10).
Black people are in crisis yow.
THINGS THAT MAKE ME GO HMMMMMM 1.DECIEPTION: She filed for divorce in 2005, so they have had problems for quite awhile. But in their many confences they showed the face of a beautiful married couple of God with advice how to keep your man/woman. 2.BAIT AND SWITCH: After 2 badly failed (and rather short) marriages Bynum has realized that her image as a relationship expert for women in marriage has been shot. Now she has a badge of courage (thanks to Week Tommie) that she can use to be the face of domestic violence (DV). Iam sorry when I think of DV I think of Tina Turners saga, or the woman in Maryland burned by her boyfriend while she was at work. Iam sure what Bynum went thru was awful, but millions of women have gone thru much more, some never made it thru. 3.WHY ASK WHY: Redman caught this as well, that SHE DOESNT CARE WHY MEN HIT WOMEN? Isnt that foolish to tell women not to stay in abusive relationships, and not at least get to the heart of most DV issues which is why did he hit her. 4.PROPHET? Even the best of us get blind sided by life, but didnt she say in one of her sermons that God said this was the man for her to marry? either God set her up or she heard the wrong voice. Ive got some more of these but in the mean time HHMMMMMMMMMM…….
Just taking a small issues with #3 Cop I dont think there is anything wrong with saying divorce or at least seperate from an abusive partner. I dont think a woman should have to find out the reason why her spouse/partner/boyfriend etc choose to hit her. She needs to focus on herself and well being. Now the reason should be figured out but that should be in individual cousneling with him and his therapist and maybe after he has been in counseling for a good amount of time the wife etc can be broght back in for couples. Too many women stay in abusive relationships blaming themselves for the abuse or believing they can help and change the abuser on their own. I myself was in a abusive relationship for several years and it took me leaving before he sought help, we are still together but he was in individual counseling over a year and then we did couples counseling after which I moved back in but this is not for everyone and I would never advise anyone to try to work it out if they didn’t want to and/or if the situation was dangerous. Being abused by someone you trust and love hurts more then anything else, I am still healing from what I consider as a betrayal. I am a therapist, I knew better. I had insight in why he took out his aggression on me (unresolved issues with his mother, her being abusive among other things) however if I brought this up he would deny or become angry, it took someone else and outside person to explore with him why he did what he did from him to admit and understand. So with all that said I can somewhat see why bynum said she doesn’t care why men hit women. Each man (or woman in some cases) is different and the reason for being abusive are all not the same. Maybe her goal regarding DV is just to work women who are trying to heal from the abuse. Just my thoughts on it.
Misha
Misha what you are saying is not wrong at all. However to become a domestic violence advocate to say women are getting hit is a complete waste of time. That fact has already been established. Its sad but it happens.
For her to serve any purpose would have to involve her getting to the root, the “nitty gritty”. No one is advocating staying in an abusive situation; of course not. What has happened to the gospel of redemption?(I did not say reconcile), redemtion and change. Does she now subscribe to the worlds view that you can never be changed even with a true encounter with Jesus.
I would venture to say she doesn’t believe it, has never believed it. Many of us have backslid in our lifetime but to me she has never had an encounter with Jesus. If she did she would not have dropped her “mantle” to become Obama’s watergirl. These people know the gospel of money, and are leading people astray. If it were she alone I would not even think about it however she has her “followers” who believe what she says lock, stock and barrel. Followers who know only one scripture. “Touch not my anointed and do my profits no harm”. They are my concern.
Yes she is a skilled orator, very entertaining and eloquent in ghetto speak, but thats does not anointing make. I was thinking today..anyway Ms. Lynn please prevent me from writing another Bynum post.
Redman said, Ms. Lynn please prevent me from writing another Bynum post.
LOL! Redman, I have resolved to stay on this case until the court case ends. So I have a feeling you’ll be writing more.
Redman, I agree if you are an advocate for a cause you should be well informed. As for the other part I hadn’t heard of her or her spouse until the “situation” so I have no idea what she is about.
Misha
Misha- Maybe I should have explained more on #3. If a woman is being beat by her husband Iam not sure she would care why, as long as she gets out and survives. But I believe what Bynum was saying is that she wants to deal with DV and help women get out of those relationships, but has no concern for dealing with the men doing the hitting that start and sometimes continue to hit other women. I think if we could answer the “why men hit” then maybe we stop this violent cycle, and save some women and maybe some marriages. I think your story is a true testimony as to how abuse is to be dealt with IN SOME CASES. It seems to me that you valued your marriage more than Bynum valued hers.
Sorry for commit no#9 the last sentence should be You and your husband valued your marriage more than Weeks and Bynum.
Misha where you been?
Ms. Lynn well I dunno will there be a court case? Are you taking the divorce thingy or the criminal situation? The bible says we are to be wise as serpents and harmless as doves. If I were her I would like i said go quietly, you know win when you are ahead., if not she will have a Pyhrric victory.
The worst way to win is to lose. How is she going to “let the justice system take its course” if she has “Nothing else to say about the matter”?

Cop, I understand now what you were saying. Redman I have been hiding under a rock..lol. to tell you the truth I’m not into the televangielist I haven’t watched one on tv in about 7 years. I don’t buy books that they write and I don’t send my money in for prayer cloths..Honestly I an quite disgusted by millionare preachers (or whatever they want to call themselves) when people in their church or in tv land that they are trying to get money from are barely able to pay there rent but they are living it up, but I guess I am getting off topic. I checked out the video clips the first one was too long to hold my attention and the second two were interesting. She does sound like a powerful speaker and I can see why many people may be attracted to that.
Now I havent quoted scripture in a minute but this on comes to mind when I think of all the mega “prophets, bishops” or whatever:
Matthew 23:5 “Everything they do is done for men to see” They make their phylacteries wide and the tassels on their garments long; THEY LOVE THE PLACE OF HONOR AT THE BANQUETS AND THE MOST IMPORTANT SEATS IN THE SYNAGOGUES; they love to be greeted in the marketplaces and to have men call them Rabbi
v6 But you are not to be called Rabbi for you have only one Master and you are all brothers. (NIV)
Granted Jesus was talking about the Jewish religious leader but I think it applies to Christans today. It is quite ironic the elements that Jesus dedicated his life to removing from Judaism have now shown up in Christianity. Just my thoughts.
To Misha: Wherever you are you are in a good place, stay there
