Beyonce Transformed into a White Woman by Loreal

By:  Lynn Green

Questions:

If Loreal wanted to use a white woman for this ad, why not go find a real red haired white woman?  Why settle for a fake?

What message is this ad sending to young black girls?  Are they being told that their dark skin and dark hair is not acceptable?  Are they being told that their skin needs to be lightened (as Beyonce’s has been for this ad) in order for them to succeed in life?Photo from TMZ website

Are black women being told that something is wrong and therefore, the wrong is being righted via lightening Beyonce’s skin for this ad?  Even her eyebrows were dyed red.

Whatever the message is, I don’t like it.

I actually find this kind of funny, not because of any message but because Beyonce’ has been a dissappointment for some time to me so it doesn’t surprise me that she didn’t speak out against this IF in fact they told her why they lightened her skin.

Not surprising. I never thought that L’oreal really made products for Black Women, took Black women into consideration when developing their products, especially makeup and could see them lightening her skin AND photoshopping her nose to give it a more pointed look and appear more Caucasian like, in order to appeal to their main market.

It’s an awful picture, she looks AGED and HARD, if I were her I would have protested simply because it’s a BAD picture!!!

I have always disliked her because she just doesn’t seem real to me! She always seems to conform to whatever is needed of her. She stands for absolutely nothing! What is so wrong about being a married woman??? That SHOULD be honorable!

TOTALLY PHOTOSHOPPED! She looks like the Wicked Witch of the West in a “glamour shot”. Come on Bey, don’t sell out like that…so what you lost the Oscar to Jennifer, going with a more “white” look is not going to win you one…

I have to wonder if her father, Matthew Knowles isn’t behind some of this. I have heard and read stories about him and some of the tactics he uses to make his daughters more appealing and acceptable to whites. Also Michelle from Destiny’s Child was on Wendy Williams show and Wendy asked her if it was true that Matthew made her change her name and she admitted that her real & legal name is Tenitra. He obviously made her change it because it sounded too black.

As Beyonce’s manager, he could have very well told the folks at L’oreal to do whatever it takes to make her BE white.

Blood is always going to be thicker than water. Is Kelly still under him, if so, no wonder her career cannot take off…or her CD sales for that matter!
