Are you planning to donate to Haiti?

Be careful that you don’t allow your compassion to cause you to give to the wrong organization, as the vultures and scam artists are out there. Be careful in deciding which charity to give to, in terms of the Haiti tragedy. Check out the video below for help in making a choice:

    I was actually pleased to see that my local legislators were collecting medical supplies for the people of Haiti. They are going to give the materials to the Red Cross. They are designating their offices as drop off points for the items. Also, my neighbor is an AKA and her sorority is collecting clothing and household items to be given to the Salvation Army, especially designated to go to Haiti.

    I actually had some things bagged up to give to the Salvation Army before the new year and I fell sick and wasn’t able to take them. It turns out God must have know who would need these things the most and I pray that my donation makes it to the persons He has designated it go to.

    FYI- Verizon just announced that they are offering free phone calls to Haiti from Verizon cell phones and landlines until January 31st. http://newscenter.verizon.com/press-releases/verizon/2010/verizon-waives-charges-for.html
