This Darrell Gilyard story is one that makes my flesh crawl. It’s the type of story that makes me sick to the stomach. I have reported on this “minister” several times in the past. Go here, here and here for past stories
Anyway, I have an update regarding the two children he is accused of molesting:
She was a 15-year-old Jacksonville girl with behavior problems whose parents trusted their pastor to give her private counseling.
Stop there! Parents, STOP sending your children alone into the offices of pastors. Stop it! Why can’t a third party be present? Especially when a “pastor” is KNOWN for having been transferred from church to church for not containing his flesh!
This Gilyard character is scary. He was bold enough to allegedly send many, many text messages to TWO children. Explicit texts.
Let’s just all be thankful that this wolf is in the court process and that those two children are protected. I just pray he never gets the opportunity to get near anyone else’s child!
Gilyard, 46, was arrested in January and charged with lewd and lascivious conduct on the 14-year-old girl. The case began when the girl’s mother contacted police after finding some of the text messages.
Charges of lewd and lascivious conduct and lewd and lascivious molestation were added in March. The new charges involved the 15-year-old, who was friends with the other teen. Both girls said they had their encounters with Gilyard last year, well before he took a leave of absence and eventually resigned from the church as the case became public.
Not guilty plea was entered
Gilyard has pleaded not guilty to all counts and has been free on $5,000 bond since his arrest. His next court appearance is scheduled for Sept. 3. His attorney, Hank Coxe, said: “We look forward to getting to the courtroom to see if this information can be reconciled with other information we have.”

i hope so too…unfortunately, i know some “high ups” at his former church who tell me he has actually already started a new church in the area (and some of the members from the former church are actually ATTENDING…) There seems to be a feeling that he may indeed get off…..hope not.

If that man is actually pastoring another church, this is SCARY and I want to know about that.
Darryl Gilyard is in fact preaching at another church — bible study on Wednesdays at St. Timothy Baptist Church, 6759 Richardson Road, Jacksonville Florida and yes some of his old church members attend. It is truly sad even those who are well versed in the bible and have been attending church for years cannot decern the works of the devil — and sadly enough these people will defend him “saying he is a dynamic speaker and knows the bible” but all that aside he should never been entrusted in a leadership position again. In addition, he has stolen money from his previous church so if he is be put in a leadership position again and has control it is likely to happen again. I pray for those the worship man and not GOD and when you do not accept the sins of man and put him down (especially in the church) what is that saying. I know no man is without sin but Gilyard should not be in any sort of leadership role in the church and those that won’t open their eyes to the truth but this sin has happened over and over again. Howbeit you born in Christ you can’t commit the same sin over and over again. Unfortunatley, many will be deceived in the last days… This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work. [2] A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;
[3] Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous.1 Tim3 1-3

THANKS so much for this update! I believe that one of the reasons this predator keeps going back to church leadership is because, quite frankly, he needs a job.
