I won’t even pretend that I know the rapper, “Juvenile”. However, I was saddened to learn that his daughter was murdered by her own brother. The devil is loose!

On Thursday evening, Anthony Tyrone Terrell gunned down his mother and two sisters at their home in Lawrenceville, GA according to the Atlanta Constitution. The 17-year-old boy shot and killed both his 11 and 4 year old sisters as well as his 39-year-old mother.

Joy Deleston was an actress who appeared in locally produced films as well as a 7 ½ year veteran of the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s office. Her daughters, Jelani (4) and Micaiah (11), also died of gunshot wounds. The youngest daughter’s father – according to child support papers — was rapper Juvenile. The rapper, whose real name is Terius Gray, has yet to comment on the incident.Police responded to reports of shots being fired at the home and when they arrived, found a bullet in the house next door. After entering the home, they found Micaiah and her mother dead inside the front door. The officer’s then went upstairs and found the body of the 4-year-old. Officers were still at the scene when Terrell arrived at the house.

“Investigators interviewed Mr. Terrell and as a result of the interview, there was enough probable cause to charge him with the murder of his mother and two sisters,” officer Illana Spellman stated to the newspaper. Throughout the month of February, we take the time….one month out of the year to remember the tragedies and celebrate the triumphs of African Americans in history. We celebrate the fact that we are a strong race that survived the many horrors and inhumane treatment when we were an enslaved people—presumed by many to be less than human.

We came together in the 1960’s facing very difficult times when hundreds of African Americans suffered physical torture and sometimes even death…all for wanting to experience the American dream and for insisting that we be allowed that which we as American citizens are entitled to under the laws of this great country. And since the 60’s we have continued to make great strides in breaking down color barriers and the walls of inequality. We become doctors, lawyers, educators, movie stars, corporations and conglomerates. But I worry that many of us in the black community have forgotten what the struggle was all about. In our quest for higher education, bigger houses, better jobs and flashier cars…are we closing our eyes to the fact that more than a thousand of our children die each day by the horrible practice of abortion?

These children are denied their most basic human right –which is the right to life; a right which our ancestors so proudly worked for, marched for and many of them died for. More than 44 million children have been killed by abortion—15 million of them were black children. Abortion has become the number one killer of black people in this country—killing more African Americans than accidents, heart disease, stroke, crimes, HIV-AIDS and all other deaths…COMBINED!

What bothers me is we are very quick as a people to recognize racism everywhere else except the one place that truly affects all of us. Most blacks will agree that racism is still very much alive—yet say nothing when abortion facilities are placed purposefully in minority and poor communities. This is no accident! More than 37% of all abortions are performed on black women. Last year alone, more than 400,000 black babies were killed by abortion.

It is so sad that our nation has come to this. This infanticide on all babies, regardless of race, is unthinkable and a form of barbarism.  You know, the Lord advised all humans to wait until after marriage to have sexual relations.  That ONE command would halt venereal diseases. And because it is rare for married women to abort babies, it would significantly decrease the abortion rate.  That ONE command.

I am not in favor of abuse and I generally am against any form of tasering by police officers (except in extreme cases). However, a junior high school student in Alabama was tasered on yesterday and I actually agree 100% with the officer’s decision.

In a world where respect for adults and authority are a thing of the past, this student had the gall to attack an administrator and stayed on top of that administrator even after police arrived.

An officer with the Montgomery Police Department shocked a middle school student with a stun gun Thursday after the student got into an altercation with a school administrator.

A seventh-grade pupil at Brewbaker Junior High School “got into it” with a school official, causing a police officer assigned to the school’s security detail to feel it was necessary to use a Taser (stun-gun) on him before the situation escalated, said Tom Salter, Montgomery Public Schools spokesman.

The incident occurred at 2:50 p.m. when an MPD officer assigned to provide security at Brewbaker responded to a call of a fight in the school’s office, said Capt. Huey Thornton, a police spokesman.

“Our officer found a 13-year-old male, who was big for his age, fighting a school administrator on the floor and was actually on top of the man,” Thornton said.

He said the student would not respond to the police officer’s repeated commands to stop fighting and get off the school official, and the officer was forced to used a Taser on him to stop the fight.

Hopefully this little thug will be expelled from that school. What on earth is this world coming to? And parents are being told not to even discipline their own children without fear of arrest?  Pu-leeze!

    Most have heard of William Buckley. He died today. May he RIP.

An editor, columnist and TV host, he also wrote more than 50 books and was for many years a substantial influence on conservative thought.

Mr Buckley was found dead in the study of his home in Stamford, Connecticut, “with his boots on”, his son said.

The cause of his death is unknown, but an assistant to Mr Buckley said that he had been suffering from emphysema.

Even those who disliked his politics acknowledged that William Buckley was dedicated to the craft of writing.

While becoming a serious and influential political thinker, he seemed at times to cultivate the manner of an old-fashioned dandy.

As a young man he worked briefly for the CIA but he really started to count in US public life when in 1955 he founded National Review magazine.

The magazine did much to give shape to conservative thought in America.

National Review became an influence on Reaganite politics and contributed to the rise of the US neo-conservative movement.

More bad news for Hillary. Chris Dodd is supporting Obama.

Today in Cleveland, Dodd became the first of the original 2008 presidential contenders to endorse Obama. Dodd told ABC News he has no interest in the second slot on the Democratic ticket.

“Who would want to be vice president?” Dodd chuckled. “I’d rather be chairman of the Senate Banking Committee.

“It’s now the hour to come together,” Dodd said, in an appearance with Obama at a news conference in Cleveland. “This is the moment for Democrats and independents and others to come together, to get behind this candidacy.”

Dodd said he called Clinton last night to inform her of his decision to endorse Obama ahead of Tuesday night’s debate. Dodd described it as an awkward phone call to make.

“She was as gracious as she could be,” he said, noting she was “obviously disappointed, maybe even something beyond disappointment,” but that she appreciated the call. “I said I didn’t want you to hear it from the media, I want you to hear it from me. She said, ‘I really appreciate that’.”

Dodd said he would never presume to pressure Clinton to step aside, should she lose next Tuesday’s primaries in Ohio and Texas, but he expressed his hope that the party will soon rally around Obama as its standard

An Australian “mum” found an inventive way to stop her daughter from hanging with the wrong crowd. She chained her to the bed:

Police said they went to the Prospect house on Monday, February 18, at 5am, after receiving a call from the girl’s mother, asking for police assistance to remove a group of people from her front yard.

Acting officer-in-charge of the Holden Hill LSA, Chief Inspector Ian McDonald, said the woman allegedly told police the girl was chained in the house.

She told police the undesirable group of people were there to see her daughter,’ he said.

Police charged the woman with false imprisonment, she was subsequently bailed and is expected to front Holden Hill Magistrates’ Court next month.
